Have you been living under a rock? Graphics has been the biggest focus of fanboys this generation with gameplay a distant second. What's interesting is that both IGN and Gamespot named Uncharted 2 "Best Graphics" but it was a runner up for "Best Action Game" to Splinter Cell Conviction.
Infamous and Prototype are two different games and I wished people would stop comparing the two. That said, in terms of presentation, Infamous is a better product but the two games have such different gameplay focuses, I don't see how you can compare the two.
I've previously been on the record as saying this game was fun, BUT, for all of 5 minutes. The more I've played of the game, the more the game's shortcomings are magnified. The story and characters are forgettable; how the story unfolds is anticlimactic and pedestrian; cut scenes are underwhelming and barely crawls the story along; the game's graphics and presentation are bland and lack polish; the missions are repetitive and side quests and mini games uninspired. When you control Alex you're...
I just watched the review. I thought it was spot on. Reviews for this game have been up and down. Some glowing, some mediocre. Having played the game myself, I can tell you that the game is an amazing experience. The story is forgettable, the graphics bland and missions are repetitive but you'll never play a character with such versatile powers as Alex's and it's just pure fun.
First and second party developers get not only the financial support, talent and time to focus on developing for a singular platform. This is the reason for lengthy delays. Let first and second party developers take their time. We've seen what that time, talent and resources can produce; Killzone 2, Uncharted, Infamous, Ratchet and Clank Future etc., etc., etc. Having to focus on multiple platforms and make both versions look and run the same will always lead to one version being handicapped....
Just goes to show that executives at Sony are smarter than fanboys ranting on forums. With a long term profitability strategy and value for money, and in light of this news, Sony are doing the right thing by maintaining current price points on PS3 SKUs.
Didn't Morgan pose for Stuff or Maxim or one of those magazines? I've definitely seen bikini pics of her in a one of those magazines.
Pretty impressive but isn't the game only 8 players online? Seems rather barren for online racing.
Looking forward to the game as well.
It's about accessability. These things are built into the NXE and easily accessible to even the less tech savvy. It's about partnerships. Sure you can access twitter and facebook anywhere from your PC to mobile phone but to someone not as tech savvy, there is a detachment. Accessability and ease of use encourage even a 60 year old grandmother to try something like facebook or twitter. Microsoft wont add a browser because, it's not feasible. If a user wants to surf the internet, they'll use a ...
Well, remember, when the XBox 360 was first launched it was at a much higher price point with the Wii being the cheapest console. Like I said in my opening post, the Wii has become the defacto console for the casual gamer. If you're trying to introduce gaming as a family, shared activity, it's the console you look to as a casual gamer. The XBox had a reputation for being the core gamer's console of choice. Microsoft has done alot to change this perception and position the console as the best ...
Pass. She admits she doesn't get nude in the spread.
LOL. I know right. I thought the same damn thing.
It's legit. It was demoed in front of the studio audience on Jimmy Fallon's show and in front of the television cameras and broadcasted. It works even on Burnout Paradise which wasn't developed to use Natal. Again, the problem is, you have no feedback from a controller or wheel which you can physically hold, so in my view it's a very detached experience. After the initial "wow" factor wears off, it's going to be a shallow experience.
It was demoed on Jimmy Fallon's late night show and it was impressive. It was all anyone could talk about the next day. Even local news affiliates were carrying the story. It's amazing how quickly Natal readjusts to the height of a new user. The technology isn't fake. It potential is quite impressive but frankly, as a gamer, I need the feedback that a controller gives. I saw them playing Burnout Paradise on Jimmy Fallon and I wouldn't enjoy playing a racing title this way.
Microsoft has made huge profits from software, royalties and it's XBox Live services. I think Microsoft's greatest ambition this generation was market penetration, which is why they rushed their console to market. I think they have achieved this. While the RROD has cost them billions, they've somehow managed to continue to sell consoles and software in record numbers. I think it's unfair to correlate the PS2's success to the PS3 which is why there is the perception the PS3 has underperformed....
The PS2 is still selling very well. 117K in May in the US. Impressive for a console that has been on the market as long as it has and great on Sony's part for continuing to support the console. Even with a price drop I don't think the PS3's fortune in North America will change. The perception of the PS3 is very different from the PS2 and the Wii has become the defacto console of choice for the casual, adult gamer and pre-teens. The truth is, while the PS2 has sold almost 140 million consoles,...
I've never played a Forza game. This game seems to be getting a lot of attention. I may give it a try if GT5 isn't released this year.
Is it just me or does it look like they made the controls more cumbersome by moving the analogue knob more center? It just seems like it wouldn't fit as neatly in my hands.
I agree. Ben Dutka is one of those puedo-journalists who perpetuates the absurdity and then has the nerve to comment on it. Ignorant smuck! Reading that article he acts like he hasn't contributed to the rampant fanboyism.
