Nintendo Switch is not using spinning drives aka hdd but sd cartridge and ssd, so they dont have to duplicate things to be more close to each other to improve loading and data for apu.
Next gen will improve that with the usage of ssds, but again this is a multiplayer game. Everybody has to have the same assets to play together.
I must say that for a company that is releasing their biggest and greatest game, these people look extremely sad.
That one dude of the team lost a lot of weight, and everybody seems so exhausted.

Actually, Steam takes 30% and Epic takes 12, and if your game uses Unreal engine than it additional - 5%.
They give money for timed exclusivity, which is great for indie, and they take less than Valve, witch is great for big sellers.
Valve did nothing to improve, while Epic is giving free games.

You can have the fastest ssd, or access data there is but without CPU to process it, or put it in gpu aka on the screen is pointless. In other words it will make bottlenecks.

I was going to buy a couple of hidden gems on promotion, and PSN was acting up by not verifying my ccv number. I could not make a purchase. Than I went and added funds to my acc with no problem and made the purchase that way.
It is all good with all my games in download list, but I'm not surprised by this news.
