Hey this is the most interesting story I've read on N4G in a couple weeks. This definitely has me curious... maybe we'll see some integration for the US Playstation.com forums in the future as well.
the wording is very vague. you can already download PSone games without a PS3. Browser compatibility with current websites? That doesn't even make sense.
The wording is very inconsistent with firmware lingo from Sony.
After a few quiet weeks, we are receiving some pretty mixed content this week. Sony has been pretty straightforward with the releases for this week. It looks like the music games will (probably) both be receiving some DLC. I'm looking forward to the Rocketmen demo - since I know nothing about it.
great find by the fine contributor here on this one. i saw it earlier today and have given up contributing to n4g for a little bit (i'm sure i'll find some stuff to put up soon). glad to see some people are paying attention to details and sharing them in posts like this.
I feel like an idiot - but I am a new PSP Slim owner w/ official firmware and I'm not sure if/how to use these portals. I guess I will check a little more into it first. It seems like these are all pretty early in development but the PSP has been out for a while. Is it worth trying this kind of stuff out?
This kind of news is pretty astonishing - coming out before press releases. I am a Netflix customer and have rented over 30 Blu-ray discs from them. Netflix's direct competition has been Blockbuster with the direct-mailed discs, which has been Blu-ray only for a while now. I'm a little surprised frankly that they would make this bold move - but pretty pumped as the format war looks to be drawing closer.
I just thought it was funny you wrote "Torrence Davis of The Bitbag writes..." when you are obviously Torrence Davis (username tordavis). Not sure it is necessary to point out your own name in the description field. You can probably just say "The Bitbag writes..." even though I know you are probably trying to build a name for yourself.
I know the source is really Famitsu via Exophase, but Famitsu is in Japanese. So I've seen others here on N4G annotate foreign documents in this fashion. If that's cool, please agree with this comment. If not, disagree and in the future I will link to a translation of the Famitsu page through a free translation service.
Later this month as in GDC. That was what Surfer Girl was talking about, as mentioned in her follow-up comment. This doesn't seem worthy of news on N4G. There will be a lot of new gameplay trailers at GDC.
I added another source, then read up more on this. This is pretty small-time and shouldn't be on N4G (or joystiq). Army pulled sponsorship and is now getting tons of negative gaming press for it - but this happens all the time.
it must mean 8 mini-games (like wii sports or wii play). seriously i got my gf and my gf's bro wiis for christmas. also helped 2 parents at work get them. none of those people bought more than 2 games. of the people i know who have had wiis for longer than 6 months, they only have about 4 games total. so not sure where these numbers are sampled from.
i know, and things like wii play being bundled with a wiimote for the same price.
the "they" you refer to is just one person. it is me. i predicted a dmc4 demo last week at one point, then moved it down to this week. you will notice the words "rumor" next to some items and "confirmed" next to others.
sorry if you don't like it. unlike most other gaming websites, i am just one guy trying to spread the word and keep sources in tact. the point of this "rumor" post is actually to decrease the number of false rumors ou...
#1. This is not a duplicate post. The end source has been completely updated and is dynamic. The source now shows rumored content for this week. Yes, last week's post now points to the updated area for this week.
#2. The Club demo has not been out for weeks now. It will be available on the US PLAYSTATION Store for the first time this week. It was released to EU/UK about 3 weeks ago and PS3 users that have created overseas accounts may have been able to access it. But it i...
Agreed. the linked to article is based off of a press release ( http://www.pennyarcadeexpo.... that came out October 2007. This article is neither relevant or interesting. It's certainly not timely as GDC 08 and probably even E3 happen way before PAX 08 (August 2008).
a lot of others are saying they want anchorman and other comedies in blu-ray... i dunno so much. i have superbad in blu-ray and there's really no point. the better BR movies would be bourne and transformers fo sho
yeah but how can they directly attribute the 500% raise in website traffic to this year-long in-game advertisement campaign? that is, unless they didn't advertise anywhere else. it's good to see that people have realized video games can be used for other purposes and are hotspots for advertising - i just think it has maybe been given a little too much credit here.
Ah.. so that's where Microsoft Excel gets its power from.
good point, i like when they come out and deny something, possibly to release this info at GDC 08? make it more of a surprise? just spit-balling
I reported the story to say this as well... this blog is trying to beat the rush to get traffic - this isn't the full North American release. Though you don't like forum posts, the much more accurate list (including MLB 2K8 demo and other new content for US) can be found at: http://boardsus.playstation...
