I completely agree. I mean, Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 4 looked exactly the same as well other than 4 being in HD.
I think you 'kind of' missed what I was getting at. I apologize for my lack of being concise. I'll use your example:
Yes, from a technical standpoint a Lexus LS > Honda Civic. However, there are still people who prefer the Civic over a Lexus. Many wealthy people (especially accountants) do drive less than luxurious cars because the car doesn't appeal to them. So, while you were saying that your preference doesn't make it a better vehicle, it can ma...
Interestingly enough, if you're a science nerd, there are some shocking facts throughout the game that most people don't know. The premise of the storyline is thru a twisting of that truth, tho. I rather enjoyed the science tie-in. Maybe that's why the second one was more of a letdown for me. Well, and I thought Eve was a more interesting protagonist in the first one and underdeveloped in the second.
Yeah, I agree about trusting reviews. I was sold on being able to use powers of the darkside. It sounded much more interesting than the lame Jedi crap.
Osamaq:
Give the first one a rent. It's not very long and you should be able to beat it quite easily and see what the game's about. If you love it, buy it. It's definitely worth the price of rental even with its now outdated visuals.
How is providing a product there's an obvious demand for considered greed? All those automakers sure are greedy by having different engines available for the same car model.
Can't wait for this one. I hope it's on par with the first one. The second one was a letdown for me despite getting similar ratings (I believe).
I agree that for the most part graphical comparison between the consoles isn't fair. On multiplat games, the tech side is dumbed down so it can appear more balanced on the systems and not taking full advantage of either. On exclusive games, it's hard to compare because few games have the same artistic approach, which accounts for much of how well a game is liked visually by its audience. Some people love the artistic style behind GeoW, so to them, it may always look better than Kil...
I don't know about preorder, but I'll definitely pick this game up at some point. I thought the first one was much better than its reviews.
'PS2 re-releases? I’d rather have backwards compatibility on the PS3"
Then maybe you should've bought one like everyone else who really wanted one. Oh, didn't wanna support Sony when the PS3 was $600? That's too bad.
I'm getting tired of hearing that complaint. People had their chance and if they would have supported it instead of b!tching about the price, maybe BC would still be here today.
Hmm, if I was still eighteen and single, I'd say in any Leisure Suit Larry game. Or maybe the Playboy game. Don't think that needs an explanation...
I played the last one on the GC. Was TP a bit choppy on the Wii? And thanks.
Good list of some quality games there show promising things for all platforms. Hopefully the compiled stats are used as a good sign for gamers and not to fuel a fanboy's ego. I doubt that'll happen, tho.
When Zelda comes out, I think I'll buy the Wii, again. Anyone have recommendations on whether the new motion plus model is really worth it?
@NeutralGamer:
Way to give it a head start. I mean, your comment offers nothing but an in...
Note to mods:
If users are obviously spamming the pages with crap like this, why bother with the common bubble down approach? Why don't you just ban them and make it harder for them to continue to put this crap all over the forums?
What is it with the games industry that requires horrible journalism? When's the last time you saw a sports commentator say, "Well, I PLAYED ____ sport and I own a football, so my opinion is just that much more valid!" Even annoying John Madden doesn't bring up his past success/affiliations when covering games (at least not to show how valid his opinion should be).
Saying you're a PSP fanboy and own x and y PSP to validate your opinion only makes it...
It's not really a fair comparison. Nintendo and Sony don't even have the same goals, here (outside of the obvious making money). Nintendo is very short-term and they know they'll be successful with what they're trying to do. Their handhelds are golden in terms of sales and support--all of them. If they can successfully pull it off, and I believe they will, they will remain one step ahead in the handheld market which they've dominated.
Sony is really ...
No, comments like this make you a fanboy, hasj:
" there are those idiots that say 'oh xbox controllers are better for FPS..."
Insulting people whose preference doesn't sit well with your own because you cannot dissect something or analyze it objectively.
@Elwenil
The reason MS's controller is considered more ergonomic (for games where the d-pad isn't the primary focus) is because of the placement of the LEFT thumbstick. Like many point out, it IS better designed for FPS games. Why? Because you are going to use the left thumbstick way more than the d-pad. No questions. As such, the left thumbstick is placed more closely to where your thumb naturally rests.
On the DS3, the d-pad occupies that spot and ...
That's what I call future proof! The mouse may change over the years, but the love for burgers? Never.
PS4 will also serve as a microwave. Thus making it the most technically advanced and future proof console in history.
/waits for someone to take this seriously...
Yes, they matter, but only to a degree. Once you're immersed in a game, you get caught up in what's going on in the game. You're not thinking, "Man, those blades of grass look so REAL. It's even the same with movies. High def. doesn't matter once you're into the story. Those of you who've dated a very attractive person know it to be true in relationships, as well. Once you're into them, really into them, you really aren't thinking, "Damn, th...
This is a game that I would like to play on PS3 because I prefer the more over the top style of sandbox. I'm in that small group that is bored with the GTA style. I like the feeling of power, so long as it's not too much like Prototype was.
