i don't think Alan Watt is entirely wrong here.
the us military did fund the creation of a game (america's army) that they give out for free and monitored online. it was hardly any different from several popular war franchises.
but since the 3 newer movies came out, i've noticed a lot of the hype around star wars die down. combine that with a lot of crappy games that have been released in the last decade and i don't see the threat these days.
i think this game will do what every other mildly anticipated mmo does. have a small appeal to a limited audience, see a minor amount of growth for the first 6 months, then everyone will flock back to wow realizing that if they are going to play an MM...

You shouldn't completely blame MS. and if you really want to say that MS only cares about sales, and you want a sequel, then buy the game. let MS know you want another one. Tell your friends about it.
I think MS knows alan wake is a good IP, and it was def their fault for allowing it to launch in the wake of RDR (no pun intended), i highly doubt they'll let it fade into obscurity.

i'm telling you that there's probably a reason you didn't know anything about it. i didn't know anything about it until i saw your post and the one above and decided to check youtube...check out the related link. it's a bioshock mod that borrows several ideas from timeshift and one key story element from half life.
doesn't mean it's a bad game...just not an original one. and the graphics are pretty average...but tolerable.
