Demon souls was great but it was dark souls that really made soulsborne series what it is today.
The world and story is much deeper and most importantly more complete than demon souls.
The difficulty was steeper.
The combat along with its variety of weapons and magic completely dwarfs Desmond souls.
Dark souls was Miyazaki at his best and you'll never see him make a game like dark souls every again.
So for comparison sake....

Fighting the damn trolls all the time got boring. Really most of the bosses were variation of trolls and witches.
The only one I would call is crackdown being turned into battle royale.
This game should be turned into a battle royal game. The story in this game is nonsense, so ms should flip this game around and concentrate to make it's co op and open world feature into a battle royal free for all.
As much as I like God of war.....I think the Witcher 3 is game of the generation. The Witcher 3 encompasses everything great about this generation and does at a level which is unmatched and unrivaled. The sheer level of depth in the story and the world is simply the best thing to come out of this gen.
Mobile games are souless ...how can the creator of final fantasy release such crap.

Halo doesn't need saving...it in a league of its own. 343 just needs to find the right balance between SP and MP. They gave us the best SP with Halo 4 and the best MP with Halo 5.
I just love how people are hated on it Halo 4's mp saying "Halo is all about multiplayer" then when Halo 5 drops with the best Mp in the series, they thrown that option out the window and just pinned their hate on the SP.
.....it won game of the year at the BAFTAs and many more places...so yeah it can called itself a GOTY.
Persona 5 and Neir: Automata are in a league of their own.
Then you get good games like Nioh, Horizon, Resident evil 7 and Mass effect: Andromeda. I would say these game are good but not great enough to grab the Game of the year spot.
Haven't played Zelda and Yakuza 0 but i guess they would rank high on my list.

I have to give it to ms for showing new games. Although most of them were indie, it shown us how Indies have evolved to almost looking seem less with AAA games. They didn't show new first party games but I understand why. Ms wanted to show variety in their lineup and it sure showed with exclusives and non exclusive. Ms manage to sell me on sea of theives, backwards compatibility, state of decay and most definitely Anthem the game of the show.
The QTE are pretty blatant in this game. I wasn't impressed with it because I it kept on reminding me of the gameplay of batman. I thought i was alright but I wouldn't have ended the show with it.
The writer says he is fed up seeing games like halo 5, gears of wars 4 and others but then proceeds to say they should announce games like halo 6 and gears of war 5 at this E3.
I don't know who's writing these but please be a bit more creative.
