Wait, wait wait. I get a bunch of dissagrees so I suppose you people out there are telling me you think that Killzone a a quality FPS? Or that Resistance, as a whole, isn't very good?
Someone explain.
10 years of mediocrity. Seriously, I don't know why Killzone has survived where Resistance hasnt. I suppose kill zone is more like the rest of what sells and Resistance is more like Half Life. That could be the issue.
I just can't believe how GOOD this is looking. And I don't mean poly counts. Art direction wise I just don't think anything on the PS4 or X1 are making this look dated in any way.
Edit: except for Final Fantasy XV.
Pretty cool that this is getting a single player campaigne. Just hope it's interesting.
Oh well. I mean, it's coming for sure but it's still a little depressing...
The one Zelda game I might actually play again.
Isn't that amazing? It's been 6 years since Fallout 3 and it could be another year or two before we play it's sequel. I realize New Vegas and Skyrim take the sting out a bit but it really has been a long time.
Hype is really a strange phenomenon. I know this game is in development. I know it will eventually be shown to the public. I know I'll play it within a year and a half of that reveal. But even knowing all that I will freak out when it's announced.
Funny.
I'm ready for a game that I don't like with visuals that blow me away.
Let the dissagrees begin!
Hmmm, I can't think of too many AAA games they could put out that people would feel legitimately satiated with.
I've never like the design of the GTA games but I've ALWAYS admired the soundtracks. Further, it's fantastic that they release collections like this.
Yeah, I'm stingy enough to wait 4 years so I'm ALSO stingy enough to buy it used and pay even less than this.
I'm still really surprised that this isn't coming to the 3DS. I suppose I don't know the sales numbers though. I would guess that if they were really strong it would have. Oh well.
But when you say it's the best out of what you have played, which games does it strike you as better than in the FPS genre?
Again I really like the game but even I would say that it is flawed as an FPS. Flawed as compared to the first game, for example, but compared to many others as well.
So if you could just elaborate on what makes it actually BETTER than most.
There seems to be a pattern that many good but not great OR terrible games go through.
First they are released and the hype and the fawning critics encourage over praise.
Second, after a few weeks or maybe months a group of people who dislike the games unanimous praise start loudly complaining about said praise.
Third, a few months more go by, maybe 6 or so, and another group of people start talking about how the recent, seemingly universa...
@GodGinrai
You may have been aiming at the initial commenter but I'll volunteer that, no, I don't have an X1. That said, I personally wasn't aware of any game in any system that looked great, X1 included.
When you make a game with a silent protagonist and people like him/her it's generally for one of two reasons. They either A) are enjoying the characterization around the character so much that they don't notice or, B) are interpreting all the things the player makes the character do AS characterization. Both fool you into thinking your character is actually being characterized.
A magazine like that has almost no use anymore. That said, I have a very soft place in my heart for the publication. Throughout the 90s and early 2000s it was my favorite.
Well if the first Mass Effect was any indication, unrealistically.
That's fantastic.
