I've always WANTED to like these games. I love the idea of a historical setting and the world, at least from the trailers, has always looked really immersive, at least thematically.
I just can't though. Open world should mean that the game (the story, the progression, etc.) itself is tied to the openness of that world. Like skyrim. But these games always seemed to offer a big sandbox with nothing to do but obey the linear story.
At the risk of startin...
I suppose we don't need backwards compatability when every game is rereleased for a new system anyway.
This is silly. People love announcements. They love hype. How many times on this very website, have we heard some big announcement was coming as we all debated for a week what it was. Talking about how excited we would be if it was such and such a game.
We have been told there would be a lot of announcements and that we should be excited. That's all we need to GET excited.

Just helping you finish your sentence there.
I am saddened by this news.
This is pobably the last year my whole (immediate) family is living in the same state. So I'm really thankful for each of them.
As an aside, whatever happened to that win a PS4 contest from a few weeks ago? Not having seen a winner posted I assume I won and it just slipped someone's mind to tell me.
My point wasn't so much that I personally really wanted to play all the old Sega series (though I'd be open to it if any games were good of course) so much as I was just confused why they didn't make them.
As for Diablo, I never thought about it but your point makes perfect sense.
I'm sure there are reasons but I just can't understand why Sega doesn't take advantage of their stable of IPs more.
I'm not talking about controversial stuff like shenmue 3 or Seaman, but games that probably would sell if good. Games like Phantasy Star (not online, something more like the classics could sell in Japan), Panzer Dragoon, Golden Axe, and many more. Oh well.
I agree with much of the list.
I don't agree with the 100% lack of Eternal Darkness.
Also, I would personally have swapped out RE4 with the REmake. I do understand that most would disagree though.
I'm kinda thinking the "nemesis system" is going to be the new "cover based shooting." That we are pretty much watching something that will be everywhere in some for or another over this generation of games.
I was a Genesis kid and a BIG fan of Virtua Fighter in the arcade so I really wanted one. But the initial price was too high (400 if I remember) and I tried out Tekken 2 on a PS out of boredom one day and that kept me from getting a Saturn during any of its prime years.
Eventually, when Funcoland was trying to get rid of them, I got one with Virtua Fighter 2 and messed around with it for a few months.
While I don't regret getting the PS Alin the least I...
How about the Vita itself? I haven't found a single deal yet.
You may very well be right. I know Amazon was good about Vita deals in the past so I was hoping they would be an answer.
We shall see.
First let me say that I'm a BIG Shenmue fan. That said, I don't think the games hold up terribly well. The controls are wonky, the audio sounds like it's being played through a funnel, and without a third game the story doesn't end up going anywhere.
Add to that the games are hard to find and, for a lot of people, it just wouldn't be worth it.
If, after all that, you are STILL interested, the first game is definitely where to start.
What makes TF2 a game that lasted this long? I've never played it.
The only remake I would have had any interest in is this one as it's the only generation I've missed. Now that fact proves to be a sword that cuts two ways.
I've been hoping someone would get aggressive on a Vita deal (100-130) but I see nothing. I wonder if retailers are gun shy considering how poorly they sold the last BF.
As of right now I have 8 agrees and 7 disagrees. Kinda surprised. Was under the impression that the people that were aware of the game were pretty unanimously hyped.
Interesting.
I honestly wouldn't be as bothered if the games were explicitly linear. But they pretend to an openness that only ever makes me feel like I'm being told to look but not touch. This, beyond being devoid of substance, is an active player in making me DISengaged in the world. Because it feels unnatural to be involved in the an open world with nothing I'm allowed to do.
Add to that what you are doing IS boring, repetetive, and above all forced and you have a recipe fo...
