That's unfortunate, for Cod it makes sense but halo has one of the most epic stories in gaming. But it's hard getting into it straight up, the games only tell the story around gameplay, the real material is in the backstory.
Books, comics, videos, etc. explain why the halo universe is so amazing. I just read stuff on halo wiki and it helps me see the campaign in a wholeee different light.

Even though i agree about MS being stingy, this game still looks great.
They could be in limited numbers and killed off, maybe they evolved since we have no idea where gears monsters really come from.
Or it's just simply a different area of the world, i mean the trilogy only covers certain cities but invasion is all over the world. I think of it like bears/wolves/cougars invading in canada and elephants/lions/rhinos invading in africa.

Definitely. Extremely underrated game, and there's a reason the ratings are 100s to random 50s, because some idiots don't understand how to play the game. It's a sandbox game so you carve your own experience, halo doesn't mouth feed you which is why some reviewers play it once just to finish it, and think it wasn't satisfying.

This is actually a great article! Explains a lottt of what i feel when playing halo. The game is designed so that i can play it the way i want instead being thrown into a scene and forced to play a certain way. The last mission on heroic was one of the most amazing and satisfying missions I've played.

I guess. Nothing wrong with a game trying to be what it wants to be. But when other games are undermined because of it, i have an issue. I know many people who are easily impressed by COD's cinematic campaign and pay for the game every year because they don't know better. It's difficult arguing with them about replayability of games like halo, which also has 4 player co-op (which is why cinematic set pieces are limited). Well i don't think there's much that hasn't been used already. In fact, religious alien zealots declaring genocide on humanity is getting a little cliche. I find that a lot of games, as wells as movies, take the route of making the enemy a crazed religious race so they don't have to come up with something more creative to explain to the audience why the enemy is evil.
exactly lol, wtf kind of reason is that, the weapons just look regular guns with orange crap coming out. They should've just shown the guns then. And no one would make that connection unless Price's description came written on the cover.
I think there's something to it. EA has a gun behind insomniac's head, and as a spokesman Ted Price is just forced to defend EA's demands.
They need to show some new enemies, i wanna ride the brumak again, maybe even a worm or something, just so much crazy shit they can do with this without worrying about affecting the franchise since this is a spinoff.

freakinn beautiful, they did an amazing job at bringing some forerunner structures to life. I was blown away when i first stepped out of the cave into requiem's landscape. I looked in every possible direction and angle and still couldn't get enough. Hopefully with the power of nex-gen we can go up to some of the amazing landscapes.
