And if you could shoot while sprinting that would be just stupid.
Also you can actually sprint and thrust into people and kill them.
That depends on what they're actually doing with the sacrifice. 60 fps is not enough to justify removal of split-screen because they should've built the engine to support it.
Now if they have something crazy like scarab battles then you can say it makes sense.

Are you out of your goddamn mind? Nobody goes around anticipating split-screen because it's been there for 14 FREAKIN YEARS! No one saw this coming, campaign split-screen was one thing, but split-screen is multiplayer has been so standard in Halo that no one would have even imagined they'd take it out.
