The multiplayer in Halo 5 is top notch and widely regarded as one of the best this gen.
But for the campaign you are right. There are obvious things that made previous Halo campaigns amazing that they are choosing to ignore.
This game had amazing destruction and it was a great game, but this has nothing to do with Crackdown 3. No one claimed Crackdown 3 invented destruction, ever heard of Battlefield? Plenty of other games have it. What Crackdown 3 is supposedly innovating in (at least in their tech demos) is open world destruction down to minute details calculated by the cloud...also with multiplayer.

No. Not in this case. Coalition was made to develop Gears of war, their name itself is taken from the Gears universe. Gears is still the best TPS multiplayer game on the market and still had a sizeable fan base. There is no reason to stop making more Gears games.

I think it shouldn't matter as long as there are people to play with. I mean I usually don't have trouble finding people no matter what game mode I play. The key is to have a large player base so the dilution isn't noticeable.
You also have to consider that reducing game modes may actually just turn people off the game. I occasionally dip into other modes but spend the most time in fiesta and custom games. If those were removed I may just prioritize playing oth...
The campaign criticism was justified but I think it's unfair to not recognize how great halo 5's multiplayer is. There are definitely issue with the lack of split-screen and not enough attention to Big team battle, but they did a lot of great things with MP and the support has been incredible. The addition of a custom games browser is probably the biggest achievement, people have been asking for that since Halo 2.

Don't think Coalition is going to be working on anything other than Gears of war, they were built for that franchise just like 343 was for Halo. I would prefer a new first party studio so we're not compromising one franchise for another.

Although they are amazing games you just listed all announced games. This is likely going to be it for 2018, but it's still a strong lineup, and knowing Sony there will be plenty of unannounced games, specially Japanese ones.
I don't think people are doubting that the game will be great, it's how EA riddles it with MT's that's the problem. The developers don't necessarily have control over that.
This. I have never touched a lootbox or MT in Halo 5 and I have enjoyed the game thoroughly without restrictions.
