clickbait trash (I didn't even click it tbh). Destiny is not out to dethrone anything. It's supposed to be a well rounded experience of multiple genres. Mainly FPS and aRPG but with PvP that they're known for.
If this was supposed to dethrone MMO's like WoW I'm sure it'd be a subscription game with timesinks all over the place. It's not.
there's some truth to your comment but the problem is, the DLC argument they're presenting is VERY flimsy and that's why X1 owners are getting so much flak.
Yeah, Bethesda screwed the crap out of us with Skyrim. That was one of THE biggest timed DLC abuses I've seen coming from a company for a LONG TIME.
It's Gamingbolt, kind of have to expect that here on N4G
absolutely not. They don't have a pedigree of AAA titles. They may have designed some A to AA titles but they appeal to a very niche audience. They cannot be suddenly handed a AAA game and expect to update that for a modern audience.
I'm not clicking on it, it's Gamingbolt. One of the scourges of N4G.
yet more clickbait trash. I don't even know why I put up with this site anymore.
Misleading clickbait title! They weren't even talking about any real problems with PS+!! I didn't even disagree with them!
No, console wars are bad for the industry. Well, I guess you can say that it's good for the industry but it's toxic for the communities. You can have a healthy competition and still make money and improve your product WITHOUT a console war (it's how things were before the X360) but with console wars, they tear the communities apart and turn fans into in-built PR machines.
It also preys upon the immaturity of gamers as well as exploit them for free feedback. S...
Fanboyism in the gaming community didn't really come to fruition until the Xbox 360 generation. I came to the conclusion that this phenomenon happened because kids grew up and X360 was their first console. To many teenagers and young adults, X360 was their first console that they've ever bought for themselves. Just like the first things you buy for anything, you're going to have a huge attachment to it.
On the business end, Microsoft used dirty business tactics....
@Tito08:
Correct. A lot of people tend to forget fighting games as e-sports and they think competitive gaming is a lock on Xbox and it's really not. There's other genres out there, FG's especially that have a large following.
Last gen, Xbox 360 was the majority owned console, it was also the better performing out of the two (for the fg's that were released), so that's why it was featured in tournaments.
It's not becau...
You were onto something until your very last comment. I've been saying for a long time now that a 1-5 scale is better. I've been saying for a long time that a 5 doesn't necessarily mean perfect. A score is a score, and it should be used if and when it applies.
IGN started the trend that 1's and 10's should never be used, because no game is so bad that it deserves a 1 and no game is perfect so that it deserves a 10. A lot of review scales are bad becaus...
Where are these idiots coming from and why are their articles being approved?
Xbots need to get it through their head that Sony is NOT going to lose the lead to MS. It's too much at this moment and there's nothing compelling that's going to drive console sales TO THE POINT OF EXCEEDING PS sales. That's IMPOSSIBLE.
Sony literally has to stall COMPLETELY in sales and MS literally has to take over and NOT ONLY THAT, but sell a ridiculous amou...
It's a Sony product, they'll NEVER give it a break. EVER. Microsoft and Nintendo fans have done considerable damage to the brand last generation and it still continues to this day.
edit: I read Spotie's post and it's on point. In fact most of the people he listed off, was already set on ignore.
What I find ridiculous is that MS has used this tactic (they originated this tactic) for the entirety of last generation. As far as I know, Bethesda will continue to do 1year Xbox exclusive DLC's on all their games. The moment that Sony uses MS's own strategy against them, Xbox fanboys go crazy and attack what was once their favorite developer.
Microsoft is not 'mad' at Bungie. It's just business. How can you be mad for doing business?

article invalidated when they started using Japanese numbers. Japanese numbers/trends don't count when you're presenting the article as analysis for the future of the market as a whole.
One thing I think that everybody missed was the fact that he mentioned (and used the reasoning of) Jim Sterling. Jim Sterling is one of the most dumbest, most idiotic games 'journalist' out there.
This guy is literally a cancer on the games industry. He spreads FUD non-stop. Always fails to see the bigger picture. Has no idea how games are designed and why people love to play them. He stirs up trouble. That's what he does. He does it under the guise of tell...
says right on their support page you can. They tell you exactly how to do it too.
I have to LOL at the tile because it's not true and never will be. There's a reason why gaming developers treat PC gaming as the ass of games and a reason why PC gamers have to create an uprising every time a developer didn't make a good port or include some ultra profile for their high end rigs.
Until PC gaming can pull in the numbers that consoles do for standard titles (games NOT made as a service) then they can talk about getting fair treatment but as it is n...
Peter Moore is a fucking moron. It's not that gamers hate change. Gamers want new thrill rides and social experiences.
You can release new games, but the problem is that when they go release a sequel, they struggle with delivering what people loved so much about the original, but delivering new content and new changes at the same time.
Another thing that the article did a good job of covering was the practices of EA, such as always online DRM, Origin, ...
