Played about half an hour before work today and it's gorgeous and plays super well on Steam Deck.
Yeah, this game while not the worst ever isn't even remotely close to a tier above a AAA well polished game.
The game should be seen as more of an embarrassment given how many studios and years were put into it.
If I was in charge at Square Enix I would put everything on hold that hadn't gotten deep into production yet and start fresh with the following projects
Chrono Trigger Remake using the Octopath engine followed by a new game in the series
FF X Remake
Then see how those go but I bet you both would be better than that weak sauce FF game they just launched.
If this is about a majority of first party XBOX games going to PS5 they may as well shelve the mid gen refresh of Series X and all future plans for consoles. Simply not needed. Right now they are giving away every game with Game Pass and still can't sell consoles. I don't even know why I own an XBOX as my solid PC makes it irrelevent.

This game is going to be absolutely stunning on PC. I'm so excited to replay it at 120fps, true 4K with everything maxed.
Still probably a game best played with a PS5 controller though.
I still find it ridiculous that the current PS5 puts an 8K sticker on the box when it can barely do 4K at 60fps without having to water it down.
4K 60 for both Sony and Microsoft should have been the entry point for games the last few years.
Super frustrating playing games at 30FPS that at times can't even handle that.
