LA Noire is definitely going to be awesome.
..but I just don't feel the rush to get single player games on launch-day. Its not like if you wait for a good deal on it, you're going to end up coming back to a dead community, as it wont really change your experience whether or not anybody else is playing it.

yea, pretty much anybody who likes splash damage knows they'll like the game, whereas everyone else thinks:

the tipping point will have to be that something like kinect is built into the console so games can casually use it when its called for, and without alienating the audience into buying a peripheral and cutting elements just to make better use of it.
eg: gestures to interact with rare objects/people/puzzles, inside of a traditionally controlled fps/rpg/etc.

Mass Effect is a staple of western RPG's success, giving it an eastern treatment just goes against everything Mass Effect did right in the style/story department.
Sure "we don't have to watch it", but then again nobody will if they think something as cliche as anime will forward the franchise.
Even the Japanese should get away from the anime "genre" because its nothing more than, sometimes good, ideas filtered through outdated cult...
Consider this:
Any game done WELL should be made.
You don't want those games to be made because the previous ones sucked. Common but ignorant. People *shock* can get more talented over time.
Not nearly a step backwards, but it IS funny that people are praising all the stuff that they bashed in Deadly Alliance and to some extent Deception (except for the 3D roaming which was purely a matter of taste imo.)
