Have you ever suggested this before?

People need to temper their expectations. No matter who is making a game, it can always fall short of expectations, just like was seen with The Order 1886 and Killzone: Shadow Fall.

It depends on what it offers. The PS3 was worth the money when it launched, and I had no regrets.

The boost in revenue isn't a bad thing, and in fact, it's far higher than what I expected Sony to be bringing in. Their business is kicking ass right now, but the revenue comparisons are interesting, given how many consoles each company has out in the wild.

Well, that isn't necessarily a good thing, since it shows a far lower software attach rate, particularly when Sony has more than double the console sales that Xbox has.

2493d ago 4 agree7 disagreeView comment

Sony has more than double the amount of consoles sold(94.9 million vs. 42.3 million), but only has 42% more revenue? Anyway, the title should be changed to 'Sony's PlayStation division' and 'Microsoft's Xbox Division', since Microsoft did $110.4 Billion in revenue in 2018 vs Sony, who is apparently estimated to have pulled in $77 Billion in revenue for 2018 (earnings announcement is on April 26 2019).

Hate, is a word that too many morons use today. If you don't like something, then obviously you must 'hate' it, and you are expressing 'hate'.... Dummies!

Price is the main problem with this offering. I'm not sure who in their right mind would choose this over the regular S with a disc drive for only $50.00 more.

Until they start talking about PS3 backwards compatibility, PS5 B/C doesn't even compete.

I agree with this. The discless Xbox One S should have been $199.00 USD. I don't know what Microsoft's costs are obviously, but hopefully the goal wasn't to simply make a higher margin in profits. This would more valuable as being a loss leader, or even something to break even, just to get people to sign up to Live and GamePass.

Andrew Wilson must go!

Where's the beef? No actual specs have been revealed, outside of the SSD.

@ Foxhound922

That's what happens when many 3rd party games get built for the lowest common denominator. However, what you're saying isn't entirely true. By your logic, playing the same game on a GTX 1660TI verses an RTX 2080TI also looks the same, because it's the same game right?

I don't know how anyone could be excited to work on this game. Bioware is just a sad story these days.

Sony has decided to invest a good chunk of money by incorporating an SSD into the PS5, but the question is, how will Microsoft choose to invest their money, in terms of components. If Microsoft goes big on the GPU and/or Memory side of things, and stays with a standard 7200 rpm HDD, then I think it would be a good trade off. Microsoft could also opt for a Solid State Hybrid Drive(SSHD), like they one they included in the Xbox Elite console bundle, which is roughly 20% faster than a typical HD...

@ crazyCoconuts

The X is pretty well a generation leap over the PS4 Pro. Because the X is a 6 TFLOP system with 12 GB DDR5 memory, it is playing far more games at native 4K than the Pro @ 4.2 TFLOPS with 8 GB DDR5 Memory, and on top of that, the PS4 Pro doesn't even have a 4k Blu Ray drive. The PS4 Pro is a checkerboard rendering console, with a standard 1080p Blu Ray drive, nothing more.

I never said the PS5 would be piss poor, I'm just saying that everyone is going crazy about this 'reveal', but the problem is that, there really isn't anything of significance being revealed. B/C is encouraging, and a solid state drive is a good thing too, but hopefully it is larger than 1TB. Other than that, we still have no performance specs. We don't even know what type of memory it will have.

@ Neocores8055

Yes, I did read it, but since you didn't, here you go:

"The CPU is based on the third generation of AMD’s Ryzen line and contains eight cores of the company’s new 7nm Zen 2 microarchitecture"

@ Razzer

Okay smart guy, we already knew that the PS5 was coming, so tell us all, what are the performance specs of the PS5?

I don't think you know what you're talking about lol
