I didn't complain about the price, but if that's what this system needed to take off in sales then I agree it needs it. Anything that helps is good.

Is there any reason why this 2DS still has a dual-eyed camera on the back? Could've removed one of them and drop the price some more.
Most PC game sales are digital in the age of Steam and similar services, which statistic data never collects.

I agree with your post in general. I have been saying it's a great concept and a cheaper alternative for a consumer that doesn't wish to pay for a feature they really don't desire to use. The only gripe I have with this system is the design which is awful, not the lack of 3D. Without 3D it's still a functional game system that plays every 3DS game, but only in 2D. For 7 year olds (or younger), gamers with only one eye, or budget conscious gamers this concept has a potential ma...
Why spend 40 for a feature you don't want or can't use, and instead use it to buy a game for it? It's the design that killed an otherwise good idea.
A couple classics come to mind:

3DS isn't that much cheaper than the much more powerful Vita, yet it is selling like cinnamon buns at least 3:1 on a weekly basis...

For good reason...only had the design been better than this:
-Great for kids 7 and under
-Great for budget gamers
-Great for gamers not caring about 3D
-Great for gamers with one functionable eye
-Great for Nintendo making money
We're still in the 64-bit days. PS4, XOne and gaming PC's are powered by 64 bit CPUs.
