I don't play Bloodborne so I can't compared it to TW3. I can say the movement in TW3 is far better than TW2 but the use of a radial menu made combat management(switching spells and gadgets) clunkier than it should be. Luckily I used macro keys to set a spell to a key so there was no need to use the radial menu or the number keys or use the mouse wheel to scroll through them(the spell icons are too small to inform me what spell I just scroll through). The less time I spend popping up t...
That's the one. And guess what? They repeated the same tactic with their latest game, Life Is Strange. Only now it's Square Enix who didn't demanded them to change the main characters into males.
I ain't got time to bleed.
More Season Passes and DLCs, perhaps?
I'm a PC gamer and I prefer a balanced of the holy trinity(graphic, gameplay and story) if possible. So far TW3 have pulled that off rather nicely.
I actually wanted to listen to the dialogs from other characters from start to finish. They have so much to tell and present a refreshing method of storytelling that doesn't rely on heavily on lost tapes/voice recording/emails/diaries/notes people would leave around that inexplicable tell us enough information to tell us w...
The first Witcher was a top down RPG. The second was a third person action RPG with sectioned open world segments(like Arkham Asylum). This third game is a bigger game than those two with even more new game mechanics.
Ubisoft have been making more open world games and longer than CDP and yet they still have glitches galore with every yearly releases.
My system(i5-2500K, 970, 8GBRAM-all stock speed with old Nvidia driver) runs TW3 around 40-50fps at 1080p on Ultra(no Gameworks). I haven't turned down any settings to see I can achieve 60fps.
I tried limiting the framerate at 30 after reading in the GoG forum about how the camera lurch around for being not optimized for 60fps. Capping it at 30 actually did make the camera feels smoother and Geralt less sliding around(stopping a little bit further than where you want him ...
Like the article and most people commenting here I agree that extra care should be given to side quests.
For example I find side quests in Skyrim nothing more than XP grinders. I only pick them automatically and be done with them quickly simply because they're there.
In The Witcher 3, however, I was pleasantly surprised to find the side quests to very engaging, refreshing and most importantly, relevant to what you're doing in the game world. I really ...
I would read on reviews with horrible scores to see what went wrong and to see whether they will change my mind.
I would avoid reviews with high scores and praises to avoid spoilers. This only applies to games that I have been anticipating for months/years. If it a new game I have never of before then I would read the review to see why is it receiving new such praises.
I find that Geralt's character model/movement slides around too much when stopping.
I'll be going for a long trip next week but my passport has expired. I need to renew it so I asked for a day's off from work.
It's pure "coincidence" that TW3 will be unlocked that morning.
"well that just tells me there out to make money that's all that matters."
Yes, that is exactly what they are doing. They are companies with products to sell.
As for the AMD versus Nvidia business practices, we're all falling for them. Nvidia is able to enforced such practices because it dominates the market. AMD is offering a lot of technology like TressFX, Mantle, Freesync and APUs for consoles because it's lagging behind. Do you honestly think...
I don't think the industry is deliberately ignoring this rise of diversity out of malice. A big, "disproportionate" chunk of the demographic is white men so the market caters to them first and diversity second. Once diversity found it's place on the top then the market would undoubtedly cater to them first and white men second. At the end of the day money is still money no matter how they get it.
We've seen this among games themselves. No matter how many...
"The Developers are making their vision and their story and a large portion of Developers are White guys."
I don't see anything wrong with sticking to things that they are familiar with. White men make games for white people. Japanese game devs made games with Japanese characters. There have been some weird interpretation of the Westerners in Japanese games and just recently the writer for GTA V was called out for being just another white guy writing about black...
"NEVER!!!" I hissed vehemently, wild-eyed, with one hand clutching my PC tightly and the other swinging the mouse wildly like a flail(the X Box 360 controller is bigger but it's wireless).
That's pretty much how new technology are built. DDR4 RAM is out but not everyone is snapping them up due to the high prices and need. It doesn't mean DDR4 is a lost because it need time and effort to grow.
A handful of PC gamers were already using HD res when the PS3 and 360 came out telling everyone that they are bringing HD gaming to everyone's living room. When the dust settled console fans begrudgingly have to lived with the fact that most of their games will...
"Everything You Need To Know About Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate"
It's another game about the genetic memory of Assassins(or in some cases ordinary people who somehow gained the ability of Assassins simply by killing them or gaining their blade) running around on people's rooftops chasing evil Templars while meeting famous historical figures.
I just downloaded GoG Galaxy and it's very limited at the moment. I presumed that it'll make pre-downloading the massive The Witcher 3 much easier but instead I got confused. There's no discernible pause button, only an abort button so I wasn't sure whether it'll roll back the download should I need to pause it at some point. In the end I closed the still-in-beta Galaxy client and currently using the good old GoG Downloader to preload TW3 instead.
I'm ...
That what stopped me from purchasing Elie: Dangerous. No matter how they try to spin it(requires very little but still constant internet connection), always online DRM is still always online.
My holidays is coming up and I'll be spending a week at my grandparents' place that has no internet connection(there is mobile internet service but it even can't handle simple messages on social media apps). Thanks GOG that The Witcher 3 is DRM free.
The Last of Us was considered good looking back in the PS3. Then, the Remastered Edition was released for the PS4 just months later. Let's not forget the remasters or definitive editions for other games.
Even developers themselves think they can still add more pixels to their games that everyone think are already pretty so what's wrong with a bunch of modders adding their own interpretations?
