Consoles are for casuals and the core, PC is for Hardcores.
I sit somewhere between casual & the core. I dont pay stupendous amount of money buying games and i refuse to pay anything above £400($600) for a console . I expect decent hardware from $ONY & Micro$oft, maybe not as powerful as high end PC but all i ask is 1080p 60fps gaming for next gen.

The leaks of next generation console specs from M$ & $ONY which says that they will have AMD architecture 8 core processor and similar GPU. Its likely they both will be very easy to port from one console to another. The days of third party exclusivity is almost dead.
Timed exclusive or bonus exclusives, i predict will still happen. Any exclusives will depend really on first party.

Sega, Atari and many others have been in the industry longer than most and they all have either become irrelevant or no longer in existance.
Tuff generation ahead for nintendo. They either will die as a hardware company in the upcoming generation or the next. I forsee a day when Mario games will be released for Sony, Microsoft and PC platforms. Not that i would care for mario games but it will happen.
According to Sun's logic, we will have Avatar graphics in Realtime. Thats a giant leap from what any high end market PC will be capable of with high end GPU with SLI/Crossfre configuration by a factor of 70x or more.
Zelda,Metroid, pokemon and Mario vs GoW, Halo, GTA, Uncharted, forza hahaha no thanks ..i prefer mature games over those predominantly kiddish titles that nintendo usualy known for. Next gen is gonna be very tuff for Nintendo even though there system is NOT next gen tech.
Nintendo is a hasbeen...we can tell now that the Wii U will be a failure. Sure the new Mario & Zelda games will help sell system but it won't be for long. No, the dev kits came with 16gb Ram, NOT the actual next gen console. It will come with 8GB RAM that most likely be shared.
Epic Games, Crytek, Dice and other Devs from those companies have asked for more RAM as they say they can do more artistic things for such a static hardware. Believe me when devs make games for consoles especialy the best devs, they will fully utilise full capabilites. Consoles are mainstream and thats where the main business is.
