Spider-Man 2 navigation mechanics (web-slinging/wall-crawling)
Arkham-style combat
Inventive use of the web powers (web fists, rockets, nets etc)
Interesting and varied side missions
Meaningful collectibles (e.g. actual comic strips)
Tons of Easter Eggs (e.g. referencing other marvel heroes like finding Caps shield or Wolverines dog tags)
Interesting side arcs like a hunt with Kraven or another Mysterio attack)
Clear sense of progressio...
To put it one way I wouldn't exactly call a game a timeless classic or masterpiece if I play it once and never touch it again. Other people may disagree saying certain experiences need only be played once to leave a strong lasting impression on you like journey. But that raises the question as to whether that's a good "game" or "experience". (maybe an "unconventional" game instead).
Cutting it short, to me replayability does matter (money...

But RDR, ME3, TLOU, B:AC were all pretty depress-worthy.
Well I hope MS does have a great showing. Sony will be shortly after prompting them to drop a bombshell if they feel the need to up their game...

In my eyes:
Casual - Someone who plays games for fun. This can be Angry Birds or Dark Souls. As long as the person isn't dedicating time and effort to mastering or just finishing the game then they are casual.
Core - Someone who regularly plays games of any type to a fairly good degree of competency (e.g. you don't get your ass handed to you on regular on COD). I would imagine many of us that visit gaming websites would fall into this category.
For me I love Nintendo. But I can't exactly call jumping on turtle heads and taking mushrooms to be "mature". Instead, in my opinion, I feel as though Nintendo make games that enable me to relate back to my childhood where there was nothing but fun and imagination. A time where I didn't worry about anything (well maybe homework and parents when going out too late lol) and just enjoyed the simpler things in life. And for me... that's just fine the way it is.

I think compensation should be in order. This is because loyal fans (not neccessarily fanboys) get the console early because they know it's a good investment, don't want to lose 7 years of progress (XBL account) and they want to experience the next generation of Xbox as early as possible. But to do this they were forced to pay for Kinect which many did not want, with MS themselves saying that the Kinect is just as important as the power cord or controller and so saying they would neve...
