The XsX is the more powerful console (unless one is deluded) , and now the onus is on the Xbox Studios to come up with the goods.
With the considerable number of games waiting on my back log, the PS5 will be where I'm going to play both Tlou2 and GoT.
I also suspect it will be improved over the PS4 version (even if only for quality of life improvements).

None of us know how much the XsX or the PS5 will cost to manufacture and which company will incurring the bigger losses.

It has everything to do with the costs and the price at which Sony will sell the PS5. The PS3 was sold at a significant loss, but in the end the gamble Sony took payed off. My question was if are they willing or afford to attempt it the second time.
The PS5 will be feature BC with the PS4. So there’s zero need to re-buy your PS4 library on PS5.

The more appropriate question should be: Can Sony afford, and are they wiling to accept the kind of loses the PS3 incurred at launch? I think they have learned a valuable lesson about over engineering a console and trying to sell it at higher price than their competitors.
In a world where the Switch exits, there is zero need for a new handheld, especially one from Sony.
There is no way in hell either console will cost north of £500. In the current economic climate that will tantamount to self sabotage. Sony and MS are smarter than to attempt that.

No. The Vita was just a hand held device with games designed specially for it, albeit with a few of the big franchise games from PS3 and PS4 branching over.
The Switch Lite plays everything Nintendo releases, since the launch of the Switch. Hence it's enormous popularity and success.
