What I wanna know is where are these claims coming from? R3 was on many top 3 charts and #1 on a few. Who said it sold poorly? We don't have any official numbers.
Not just that but Tourist Trophy and when the PS3 was just beginning they weren't even thinking of GT5 and had a whole nother concept game. As for Prologue it may not have been a full GT game but by other racing game standards it still had more cars in it.
The standards I'd rather have in the game than not. There are just tons of great cars and while it would be ideal for them all to be premium I'd rather have them there than missing.
Stale? No. What he described is pretty much what you have to do in every racing game or RPG.
I'd say it was plenty before the update but the update definitely made millions of people happy! The support for the G27 alone was enough to please people. My favorite update being the improved physics and ability to save in an endurance race. The new opening is just pure eye candy!
Also what is ridiculous is his claim that PD takes forever to develop something and points out that since GT4 that 4 Forza games have come out. PD have done many things since the release of G...
Should have never been ported to the 360 or at least have the PS3 version come out and have the 360 version later... -_- Have to wait till 2012 for them to make a port.

I'd point out the quality in GT5 to you but it would go right over your head. I like Forza but not as much as GT5 and I have both consoles. So again, piss off.
@gamingdroid - That's just proof that reviews are useless. GT3 A Spec was the worst GT game ever and it got the highest ratings! I mean they brought it to PS2 and lost everything that GT2 had but tried to make up for it with pretty graphics. At least GT4 corrected their mistakes and actually had a decent amount of cars.
Metacritic users are like 1% of the fanbase of both games and usually a bunch of fanboys giving games 1s or 10s. You serious?!
GT5 is a better game. If you go by Metacritic or critics in general, you'd be fooled into believing that Grand Theft Auto 4 is the second best game ever made. -_-
It's truly pathetic that people are complaining about 800 standard cars. I would not have wanted them missing there are some great cars that are standard and to be missing would be truly a mistake. People complaining about it simply aren't fans of cars and people like you just complain over everything and if they did launch with only 300-400 premiums you would be b****ing hard because it lacked the content of GT4...

@StanLee... Your claims of Forza growing are correct but if you look at PD's official numbers( http://www.polyphony.co.jp/... ) you'll see that GT games have not declined and in fact have remained very consistent(barring spin off games like GT concept and both Prologue versions).

E3 2005 - Vision Gran Turismo was unveiled( they scrapped that whole game).
Feb. 2006 - Tourist Trophy was released
Dec. 2007 - Gran Turismo 5 Prologue was released
E3 2009 - GT5 shown officially for the first time.
Oct 2009 - GT PSP released.
Dec. 2010 - GT5 released.
Oct 2011 - GT5 Spec II release...

It's not tacked on gameplay, those core titles utilize the Move very well. It's an option...
All figures by manufacturers/publishers are shipped. Kinect figures are shipped, Wii figures are shipped... You getting the picture? It doesn't matter how many are sold when all you have to compare it to are other shipped numbers.
