@TechnicianTed - Yeah not much or they'd report them separately. If PS2 was still doing in the millions, they would let you know and they probably wouldn't have stopped producing them.
@NeverEnding... PS3 is still going to match the PS1 with over 100 million units sold eventually so they actually didn't do any worse than they have before it's just the competition is more fierce now.
I'd rather it be on PS3 so they can have the proper time to make a PS4 title rather than rush it out early just to get people to buy a new console. No GT has launched with a PS console. GT3 was close but it was a year off. The new engine has the future in mind so it won't take as long as GT5 did.

I have a nice 1000w Sony 5.1 surround sound with the settings in GT5 set to "Large Theater"(which doesn't compress it like living room and small theater settings do) and it sounds great. No worse than any other racing game I've p...

No it isn't better. My TV supports multiple devices, more than I have so I'll have my PS3 and PS4 hooked up to it. Not that I'll play my PS3 much after the PS4 launches. GT6 will be the only game I extensively play. I never play games from the gen before much anyway. Usually I play two gens and back because I haven't played those games for a long time. PS3 games? I've been playing the heck out of most of them for years. I'm moving on and giving those a break.

Yeah they say that but that's because most people are not game enthusiasts. Lets use your movie example. Most people aren't film enthusiasts and don't care about old movies like the ones you listed and they only watch the biggest, newest movie with their friends. Likewise most people are not game enthusiasts, they are just casual gamers and only buy what's popular and what their friends have. Yeah it's all just self-entitlement really. People really think something is going to fail with no BC? LOL! It won't matter to all of those people who didn't have a PS3 but want a PS4. It might matter to a few PS3 owners but I doubt most will care as they have a PS3.
I personally only used BC on my PS2 a few times just to test out the smoothing option on old games. After that I never played them again and stuck to PS2 games.
Cross play /=/ remote play... Cross play means you can play with PS3/PS Vita users on the same server. I see what you're saying but yewles1's post below clarifies it.
I don't think it'll recreate the area, just the layout of the road. Also Project CARS will undoubtedly have decent physics but I doubt it'll best GT6 maybe just maybe GT5.

@BullymangLer - GT6 because Slightly Mad Studios has confirmed Project Cars is a Sim/Arcade hybrid. After hearing that, I lost all interest.
I'm more excited about this than any other game this year. I'll still get The Last of Us and maybe Beyond but this game is the only game I'm excited about on PS3 once the PS4 is here.

I disagreed with you because GT4 was a huge improvement over GT3. Not only in just content but the graphics were much better too, environment and crowd wise.
@Mike but they did start over. Completely new engine! Not that I'm saying I would have wanted it on PS4. I'm glad it's PS3.
One can only hope it's still being made by Evolution. Many Liverpool employees moved over to Evolution anyway.
Yeah it did but VGChartz tries to brainwash people into thinking their numbers are real and the companies shouldn't be trusted. While it's true that they are shipped numbers(Sony/Microsoft), they're a better indication of who's doing better sells wise.
Also if the next Xbox doesn't have a price advantage I think it'll be hard for them to repeat being ahead for so long this time. PS3's high price stifled sells but it didn't stop them from doing ...
