This game actually looks really great! Not open world but you can go anywhere in the level, you can do missions as you choose, etc. Liking the Owl too, adds some unique gameplay.
Um what exactly does BF4 have that's genre defining? It doesn't have any, it's your typical war fps... However, that doesn't mean it's bad.
Still, many people will believe what they've heard and not hear it was all a joke so a lot of casuals won't buy it under the impression that it was all a joke. If that were the case anyway.
I agree they had good games, but so did Sony, and I feel that Sony had the advantage. Not by a lot but they did.

Planetside 2 does. It recommends 6gb of ram but minimum required is 4gb.
I'd rather a playable Chimera than Hale or Cappelli. They are more iconic than the other two.
That controller was different from the design we saw at the reveal. The light bar is different. It's more functional in that you can see it while holding it in front of you but it isn't as stylish. Also the touch pad is different as well as other subtle things.

The needs of the publishers won't be met if people are put off and don't buy the systems. So the needs of the consumers are more important because without them there would be no publishers.
@Quark 9 - It may work for publishers at the beginning but if no one buys the Xbox One they won't be making games for it no matter how friendly the restrictions are to them. If PS4 also has this and no one buys it and everyone goes to Wii U, do you really expect publishers to make games where no one is playing?
Also, **** Microsoft! Instead of competing by making great games, they just try to sabotage the competition through sheer muscle(cash). In the end the product speaks for itself, which is why the PS3 is now ahead of the 360 and has sold more yearly since it released.
Possibly but they won't fool gamers and casual gamers will see the same games on the shelf for PS4 and wonder why they are getting an X1 when the PS4 has the same games. Also I find it hard to believe many publishers would be doing this on such short notice because it means less money for them.
I know, right? I think it looks much more fun than the PS3 games.
