One of the more expensive current gen consoles was underpowered before it even released. But yeah, I'd say in 3 years from now, PC games will look beyond and above. But will anybody care when Nintendo/Sony exclusives won't ever see a PC release.
I can see MS revealing their next console way before Sony does, and probably not long after the Wii U successor is revealed.

To all the Fanboys trolling PS4 articles..
PS4 gamers have already had visually stunning games like the 100% exclusive Infamous SS & Killzone SF since launch. Two games that (IMO) are better than Dead Rising 3 & Ryse. I would mention TitanFall, but that's not exclusive....wait! neither is DR3 anymore.
Apart from Drive Club, LBP 3 & Planetside 2, the rest of 2014 is looking pretty quite in regards to what Sony Studio's have to offer....

I agree. As I understand it, many developers (paticularly Indies, smaller studios) will not have the financial means to utilize DX12 in any meaningful way. Like the article suggests, mostly the AAA studio's will.

Listening to the developers has ensured there is very little screen tearing and frame rate issues on PS4 hardware. Oh, and a little thing called 1080p is more achievable because Sony listened to Developers, you know..Developers, the actual people that make the games.

Lol I get the sarcasm...and they can say that 'til the Cows come home, but I don't think the PS4 and PC gamers are the one's that need to be worried, especially with (scalable) PC hardware...
Besides, when the new SKU update does little to improve things, they'll just move the goal posts again. I'm starting to see a lot of 'Xbox games are more fun' rhetoric lately ;)
Some programmers are less proficient than others. Some cut corners, some just want as little development time invested or hiccups as possible for the money they expect to recoup.
This may explain why some Xbox games that have more advanced engines/assets such as Forza Horizon 2 are achieving 1080p, whilst other less demanding games such as Trials fail to do so.
