No it was never officially announced, but the wording Palmer Luckey used towards pricing was extremely misleading, that's why people are p155ed.

"Speaking in a Reddit AMA session, Oculus founder Palmer Luckey admitted his error in the pricing message, seeing as he initially stated that Rift could cost a “ballpark” of $350, it's understandable people were irate about forking out over $600"

I was going to get both Rift and PSVR this year, but...

I would say alot of the controversial scores we see are from reviewers looking purely for high clicks on their website, a problem which is confounded further by N4G's self publishing.
I personally don't think websites should be allowed to post their own articles on N4G and that task should be done by the general public, personal self publishing just encourages click and flamebait articles to which we get a ton of on here daily.

Of course there are the totally ...

@Sackattack

My PC is attached to my 65" 4K TV in the lounge, I'am getting a stable 40 fps on 4K on TR on high textures, The Division I've not checked yet, but there is little to no stuttering during gameplay.

Of The Division, ubi showed a gorgeous video play through back at E3 2014, that's the kind of graphical fidelity i want on my PC, same with the Watchdogs E3 vid at E3 2013.

As for TR, where are all the Nvid Gameworks typ...

"So people hyping up PCs graphics and 4K can't usually play on 1080p on medium settings themselves. So don't blame consoles or console gamers when your pcs are the ones holding back the pc games"

Intel i7 2600@4.5ghz
2 x GTX970s in SLI Overclocked
10gb DDR3 ram

Those are my current PC specs.

That is plenty enough specs to run the most demanding games at 1080p, i can run TR and The...

@abizz
I was just telling a friend this, i remember games from 10 years ago that would bring a new card to it's knees begging for mercy, games like Doom3, Half Life 2 and Crysis, games that pushed the graphics envelope.

But those days are gone forever i think, with the cost of developing games it's just easier to go for the lowest common denominator, which in this gen is the X1(not saying it's that much lower than the PS4).

My overclocked 970s run it perfectly at 4k with everything on max(except textures which are set to High), looking around the high 40's for fps.

Personally, i dont think it looks that amazing, PC version has definitely been gimped due to being a console port.

Need for Speed Underground 2, nothing touches that game, nothing.

Totally agree with your assessment, The Division is nothing special in the graphics department, there have been far better looking PC games in the past.
What urks me the most, is that i spent £600 on two gtx970's to play games with a slight upgrade on visuals over the consoles. Tomb Raider is another game gimped on PC due to limitations on consoles.

Dont get me wrong, i love my PS4 to bits, it truly has some breath taking games visuall...

Picked it up from CD Keys for £27.

I paid £600 for my GPUs to get slightly better graphics than the x1, another gimped crappy console port.

Ok lets flip your argument around, dont these MS numbers include windows and the 360 live users as well?

"According to the judges, Gran Turismo was recognized for working effectively with the world’s most reputed brands since 2013 and “being an instrument to teach how to drive a car for those who are below the legal driving age” and “for educating about cars in general.”

A glowing accolade indeed, for me it is still one of the best driving experiences in gaming, a true masterpiece of passion and dedication.

Looking forward to GT7 and GT Sport in VR, can n...

Two GTX970'S in SLI running in 4K@max settings and i7-2600@4.5ghz, only issue i've had is extreme fps drops at certain points, figured out it was that hair crap causing it so turned it off, no more drops in fps.

Tbh, seems like another gimped console port, graphics are ok, nothing special.

Well said, i refuse to have that crap on my PC, i recently relented and installed it for fifa 16, a few months ago my internet went down for 2 days while my isp were upgrading, origin refused to work without a internet connection, the bright sparks at ea suggested i go online to go offline, i mean wtf?

In the end i took a hit on fifa 16 and uninstalled it along with origin, i will now be buying ea games pre-owned and on console, they wont get a damn penny from me.

Day One here.

With no VR at the start, for now, this is a no buy for me, was very excited to get this a week ago, then found out they pulled VR and my interest dropped off a cliff, ETS2 is awesome in VR, could never go back to playing these types of games on a boring 2D TV/monitor.

However, the dev did reply to my post on Steam and said they will be implementing VR at some point, they just don't know when, i'll hold off till then.

Any of you guys know if this will have SLI out of the gate? I have two GTX970's in waiting.

@cell989

Not bragging my friend, just trying to prove a point, not all PC gaming requires you to sit hunched on a uncomfortable desk chair at a desk and play on a tiny monitor, to which nilla was loosely insinuating to.

My gaming PC sits next to my PS4 with-in my entertainment centre in my lounge, the PC is attached to my 7.1 surround amp, which then goes to my 65" 4K TV, i use a DS4 controller to play my PC games while sitting on my really comfortable sofa.

What's your point?

To all those people who think you have to wave your arms about to enjoy VR, great vid, game looks good as well.
