I didn't like Civ 4 too much either, mainly because I never felt like anything I did meant anything. Age of Empires and the like at least throw a story mode at you. I kind of want to give 5 a shot though, despite all that...

That title is so brutal...
This is easily the best article I've seen regarding FF13, and one of the best I've ever read that N4G led me to. I loved FF13, but to see it pulled apart and examined is a real treat compared to the usual vitriol spilling from every mouth on the internet when the game is brought up. And what's more, despite my love for the game, I actually agreed with you on most points.
