There's still going to be a beta in August for those that pre-order, but this may have been a private beta or even alpha.
I haven't looked into the numbers on the first, but that was what I was thinking as well honestly. I mean, if they can get the money from crowdfunding, sure, that works. But after having made a game that people wanted, I'd imagine they don't need to crowdfund another. Especially one asking for almost four times as much as the original.
People are already angry that they're not spending more time polishing the first one. If they expect to get that much money from the fans, that's going to be hard. Unless they have investors going through that campaign or something.
Haven't heard anything on Best Buy yet, Amazon just joined the list though. They started sending out emails and giving out $20 credit.
I haven't heard anything on Amazon, but an employee from GameStop informed me that they're not being sold currently. The website isn't selling them as well.
Yeah, the email just went out today. That's crazy for them to cancel it the week before it's releasing. I'm curious why they did.
I think The Stomping Land basically gave them free marketing. Plus, the survival genre is huge right now! It is pretty crazy though to see how fast it picked up.
I think we're in a survival games era right now and zombies are fading out, but aren't gone quite yet.
Primarily was going off of the thought that most people hate sniper rifles / campers in shooters. That idea originally sparked in my mind when talking to a friend about sniper rifles in shooters. Although, having looked into the Roller as I'm not as up to date on Splatoon, that's crazy.
I'll have to look into that some more since it really does look like that can be rough. Just looks like the sort of person you'll have to focus once you see them.
From the statement the CEO does point out that developers are able to sell keys directly to G2A from Steamworks (where the keys are distributed from originally).
However, one of the major issues is still with the G2A Marketplace where literally anyone can sell keys that can be either fake or stolen. This ends up hurting the consumer and developer unfortunately.
Yeah, it really was awesome to play with a group of people. There are so many things that can go wrong when you have people trying it for the first time =P
I'm curious to see how long they run with the show.
I still think the score is a bit rough, but to consider it click bait is stupid to say. As you put it clearly and Sterling did as well in the comments of his review, there are absolutely no advertisements on his site. Click bait is used for hits as hits convert to money. If it were a YouTube video that'd be different, as he likely has ads on those (Don't hold me to that, not positive).
@Xander70769 There doesn't have to be an audience for the critic to write a review. Reviews are supposed to be subjective more than anything, but because of the industry that is video games, people expect objectivity. If you want integrity, then reviews theoretically are supposed to be subjective and opinionated, not objective. I say theoretically, because that's what reviews are, but once again, not necessarily what people in games are looking for.
A lot of people have looked at it like Ubisoft is deactivating keys because of a money situation. Which entirely can be one factor but I wouldn't consider that to be the only one. It's likely that they're deactivating them as a jab at G2A, but it's not enough to get them to change anything that's for sure. If people realize hey, any game I purchase from G2A is getting deactivated, they may slowly stop purchasing games from there.
Which is unfortunate as yo...
I'm not enough of a legal wiz to have the legal side of things unfortunately, but I recall reading a decision in Europe that was related. It had to do with the distinction of how a game was sold, I'd have to find it specifically, something having to do with it either being or not being a license allowing people to resell the game. Although, this ruling was more for different forms of media, not quite video games.
Either way, it's a crazy situation that you feel li...
@Sillicur G2Play and G2A are different key resellers. The article is false in pointing out that Ubisoft is deactivating G2Play keys as nothing states that at this time. However, it would be likely as Ubisoft has stated they're deactivating keys from G2A; an "unofficial reseller". Therefore, that states that G2A is getting their keys from who the heck knows where and they haven't clarified on how or where they're getting them from.
Key resellers are shady...
Yeah I've already seen a few silly names like that =P A buddy of mine stupidly said Watchover.
I haven't quote any of the streams today myself, but I've watched past ones from the developers. It looks like a nice mixture of Day Z and Rust, which I'm sure it gets compared to all the time =P
I've seen a few replay clips from silly runs already.
