The key reason Imsoniac is so amazing at getting these games out in a timely manner is that they understand how to make fantastic games that have a level of quality while not having an outrageous scope. Scope is the bane of any dev. Notice how other games might try to focus on weird things like you can enter any building, or every NPC is unique and has a regiment they follow or our game has 1000 sidequests. Instead insomniac focuses on what matters and it shows.
Because like it or not these are the most popular versions of those characters.
It's not fair to just put it on the Mk guys. Especially when we don't know the specifics of what went down. What's more likely that they weren't willing to pay him well when they got Megan Fox, Jean Claude Vann Damme, John Cena, and JK Simmons. Or that Anthony Starr a) didn't want to do voice work on a game or b) wanted more than JK Simmons and John Cena?

1. Xbox does this without requiring a subscription. Paying for this kind of service happily could set a pretty bad precedent in my opinion.
2. I think services like this could go a long way to restoring goodwill with Sony but I think I'd like it better if they collaborated with known communities to make fan-supported servers playable with current hardware and being that these servers would be run by the fans I do believe this should not be done at an extra charge.
Square's issue isn't their good games, but rather how often they whiff. These constant talks of NFT's and Crypto games are one thing. on the other hand, they seem to have no actual release strategy and will often send 7 or 8 games out at around the same time. For instance last year, Valkyrie Elisum, Star Ocean DF, Harvestella, Tactics Ogre: Reborn, Romancing SaGa, Dragon Quest Treasures, and Crisis Core Reunion all came out in a 90-day period.

fully agreed if Sony or Nintendo don't fully support their digital stores and bc going forward I will be purchasing all games on PC. I have no problem waiting to buy a used Playstation or switch with used exclusives.
