@dasteru:
You couldn't be more wrong about the abandonware bit.
"In most cases, software classed as abandonware is not in the public domain, as it has never had its original copyright revoked and some company or individual still owns exclusive rights. Therefore, downloading such software is usually considered copyright infringement, though in practice copyright holders rarely enforce their abandonware copyrights."
What a crock. Video games do not help you develop social skills.
Playing online? DEFINITELY doesn't help you develop social skills?
Playing SP offline? No.
Playing multiplayer offline? Yes, but that's just because you're around PEOPLE. Doing ANYTHING with other people helps develop social skills. If you want a strong personality, surround yourself with people that have strong personalities. Video games are not the key.
False. There's 3v3 battles and 3v3 rotation battles. That's a huge step in the Pokemon games. It's a new battle system, just one that is used alongside the old.
Uh... I think you're missing the point, Active Reload. It's NOT being released on the 3DS. It's being released on the DS, right before the 3DS is due to come out. That's why Capcom is dropping the ball. Be more informed when you try to argue a stance, please.
This is an announcement because, in the end, the filesize for the game was too large, and they were stuck between either scrapping the project completely, or releasing this game as a retail title for Wii for about $20, with extra content. Then later they said that that option wasn't very feasible, and it seemed as if they were going to abandon the project for good.
So yeah, you guys criticize people for not keeping up with the gaming industry, but in reality it's YOU ...
This is a fantastic game. It's WAYYYY longer and bigger than I thought it would be. Totally worth the price.
WOW BOSS, SOUNDS LEGIT.
Well that's dumb.
Could it be tracking the copies of NSMB sold in the special edition Red Wii bundle? If not, maybe more people took notice due to the "Mario's 25th anniversary" thing.
When you put it that way, you can make any game sound easy "Oh god, mashing buttons in DMC is so hard".
So yeah, you haven't played Lost Levels, I see.
Also, I think Viewtiful Joe should be on the list. That game is balls-to-the-wall hard.
If you can say that Super Meat Boy isn't hard at all, then I'm guessing you've completed all of the dark worlds in the game, gotten every bandaid, every secret character, and completed every glitch world?
Are you sure you're thinking of the right Mario game? Lost Levels is nowhere near as easy as the already challenging original Super Mario Brothers game.
In most people's opinion -- mine included -- Donkey Kong Country Returns is wayyyyyyyyy harder than the original DKC. That should replace DKC on the list.
Everyone who agreed with this post has not attempted to 100% Super Meat Boy.
Definitely going to be a fantastic year for the PS3, without a doubt. However, don't underestimate the Wii yet. Remember, no one thought that 2010 was gonna be such a great year for it until E3. Nintendo is usually very secretive about their projects. Will the lineup be able to stand up to the PS3s? I highly doubt it, but I also doubt the actual 2011 Wii lineup will be anything to sneeze at.
That's pretty weak. I mean, it doesn't matter THAT much since I typically have no problems bringing my charger wherever, but... just another reason to hold out on getting a 3DS, I guess. That and the inevitable price drop... and the limited edition versions with pack-in games... and the enhancements to its hardware...
I probably won't get one until the next gen Pokemon game is released for it, which is gonna be awhile, thank god.
I meant to say "Nintendogs", but somehow I like "Nintendongs" more.
6090 yen!? That's like $70 US! That's insane.
The standard going price for 3DS games will likely settle around 4800 yen (using Nintendo's Nintendongs as a reference), so that'd be almost $60 US. Does that seem like a bit way too much for a handheld game?
edit: actually, maybe not even that low. Professor Layton is going for almost 6000 yen. Jesus, I wonder what reg. price 3DS games will settle at? It still seems all up in the air at the moment. ...
I didn't realize that "had to be seen to be believed" referenced graphics exclusively. I thought it could mean new, interesting types of gameplay or presentation of games. I guess I'm a schmuck for being open-minded, hey?
No Re-Deads? Damn, they were the only video game monster to actually scare me. You can't say that you weren't scared the first time you ran into one under one of the graves in OoT.
