I took it to mean griefing in general. They shouldn't do anything that stops people hunting down an enemy or effectively acting on a grudge.
At the same time, PvP can get stuck in a loop some times and it does feel a bit pointless sinking a ship with no consequence at all. At the moment PvP risk is too stacked, as the only ones that can lose are players with treasure. They need to tie some kind of value into the ship, or find some way of making players care about keepin...
@kostche jumping in the sea over and over to attempt to board a ship is part of the game. Learn to protect yourself you "pathetic snowflake".
One of the execs clarified it on a tweet. Aaron something. It also excludes Game Pass numbers.
There is plenty of evidence that gaming turns people into dim-wittted retards. Just check the comments on almost any N4G article.
Sad but true.
Nope, they meant of MS published games for the One. Including things like Sunset Overdrive, that were developed externally but published by MS.
So it outsold Ryse, Crimson Dragon, Ori, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, Cuphead, and Screamride. That's all I can think of.
PvP is a big part of the game play.
PvP =/= griefing.
There are a couple of mechanics in the game that can be abused to ruin the game for other people, and Rare should address those.
They aren't talking about stopping PvP. Griefing is abusing the mechanics to spoil other people's fun. In Sea of Thieves you can camp on an enemy ship so you can keep killing them when they spawn into the world. They need to tweak the mechanics to avoid that scenario.
Right, but I didn't say anything about content or value or other games. I said the water, sky, and weather look nice, and all the audio work is really good.
I have 6 downvotes at the moment, but it is hard to take them seriously. Nothing that I said is false or controversial.
The audio visuals aren't limited to just the water. The sky, lighting, and weather are also quite beautiful and the audio team deserve nothing but praise as they've done a fantastic job. None of the game's problems are down to the audio.
Pffft. Gamers that have friends are casuals.
Microsoft are actually very savvy about protecting your data, and fight very hard to protect it even against the US government. They have an on-going legal dispute right now in which they are insisting that they do NOT own any of our data, and have no right to share it.
They have already set up whole Azure data centres with the hard drives leased from a foreign third party so that if they lose the court case, they can work around it by literally not owning the data storage....
That's a cool idea. So long as it is optional, and you can rejoin the living without too much trouble.
Death is a currently a shortcut back onto your ship, which is usually exactly where you want to be. It is too trivial, whether you are the assailant or the receiver.
Losing your ship can be hugely significant if you have treasure on board, but otherwise it doesn't matter at all. If you fancy griefing players then you simply turn in any treasure that you have, then there is nothing to lose.
Penalising players without harming their enjoyment can be a bi...
They need to do something to make death more meaningful though. Getting a new ship needs a bit more pirating to it too.
Hopefully they come up with something meaningful and fun.
These reviews definitely need a Caribbean limbo theme. Anyone reckon they can get lower than 3.4?
Sea of Thieves is on Game Pass. That alone makes it surprising to see it at the top.
People enjoying a game is definitely not a reason the industry is bad. It us arguably the best thing the industry has going for it.
I don't think the number of day one players is still growing...
Are you saying Microsoft were giving the dev too much freedom, and should have meddled in the development more? That's kinda what they're usually criticised for doing too much.
Yes it is. "To what extent?" is an open question.
