I really think sony fans are letting Sony off a bit easy here. They lied to you and now its all okay? You basically have to re-buy all your controllers because who wants to play without rumble? I know you guys like Sony but c'mon, this is ridiculous. I'm not saying Sony is sh!t, MSoft does this as well, but this is clearly a case of Sony being dishonest. I guess you are right but is the decrease in load times a major factor in the games performance? Is that half second of choppyness when you enter a new area of a game realy that bad? I was more talking about raw frames-per-second than load times. Besides, if the performance increases of an HDD was significant, why don't we see any major advances of performance in PS3 exclusives? It's more a case of technicaly it will increase performance but practically, it doesn't make a difference.

Having an HDD does not influence frames per second. Stream loading is also done from DVD. If you don't have an HDD, the RAM is used as cache, which is MUCH faster than an HDD. Using the HDD as cache is best suited for infrequent use since an HDD is VERY slow in comparison to RAM.

Disk space influences the amount of content, not performance. A hard disk doesn't do any calculations or draw any textures. It can't even be used as secondary ram since it's too slow. As I said, get your facts straight. Pull your head out of Sony's @ss and think for yourself.
Good in-game performance needs more than just CPU power, it needs a good GPU as well, something the PS3 doesn't have as much. Cell is powerfull but its not the only element in the equation.

Quit your crying. You can buy an arcade and IF you want a hard-drive (note that its not needed to play all the games), you can just get one.
Another thing you are forgetting is that the whole world doesnt consist of people like on N4G. Only hardcore gamers hang here. The Arcade versio0n is not for hardcore gamers so it's natural that there will be a bad oppinion about it on N4G.

Believe me, they did. Sony is being protected fiercely on N4G but they are just as dirty as any other big company. Its all about the money, everything else comes second.

Nope, blu-ray can't act as an extension to ram because it reads too slow and has a slow access time. Ram is probably 100 times faster than Blu-Ray (and DVD).
What I'm questioning here is that every PS3 fan says that DVD is not enough this gen. Now that a high profile game on the PSP is short, it's not about length all of a sudden. The hypocrisy, as Wage said, on N4G is out of hand. It's the same with the GTAIV...

It's strange that all of a sudden the people on N4G has no problems with a short game. Why is blu-ray needed for gaming again?
I know the story. The point is that customers baught a controler that has less funtionality because Sony didn't want to settle with immersion. Then they lied about the whole story saying it was their choice to exclude rumble. What they should have done was paid immersion what they wanted instead of trying to fool the public. People shouldn't be contempt with what Sony done, otherwise it will happen again. I don't own a PS3 yet but I'm glad I waited.
