A lot of people (including the people at IGN) believe that Peace Walker is a superior game to MGS4. Considering that they set a specific rule disallowing the inclusion of more than one game per series, it makes perfect sense to have Peace Walker in the list.
I thought the game was great. The limitations of the PSP are fairly obvious, but they don't cripple the game the way Portable Ops was.

The 360 controller is much better for FPS games. Especially Halo. To me, the 360 controller feels like a Halo controller more than anything.
Why the hell would you use your middle finger for the 360? It's specifically designed for you to be able to comfortably rest your index fingers on the triggers.
This is goddamn stupid. Sure it creates a situation where you may end up being shot during the animation, but it effects everyone!
Considering that half the reviews are total shit, yet the game is still selling like crazy, this one will definitely go down as a cult classic.

It's neither shockingly good, nor shockingly bad. It's a game, and that's about as much as can objectively be said about it. I'm having fun with it, but it could be better--but it could have been much, much worse.
I don't understand why everyone is saying the game is so bad. It's far from amazing, but it's still fun. The graphics aren't nearly as bad as all the reviewers are saying, and the gameplay is good enough to be enjoyable. All in all, the game could be better, but I like it.
I wasn't expecting too much, and I got what I was waiting for.

I haven't even finished it yet because of the controls. I finally found a copy and I was so happy, because I had ignored it when it first came out, then really regretted it later on when I started rounding out my MGS collection.
Then, I was sad...because I could barely play the game.
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, and only because the controls are terrible.
So basically, this story isn't a preview AT ALL, but a simple collection of all the knowledge that has already been revealed.
