This is because of licensing. Almost no car manufacturer wants to give the developer the licence to draw their car and have them in the game and then to be able to break it into pieces. So developers are stuck between two options. Either use imaginary cars and put there a nice destruction model, or use licenced cars and pray you are allowed to show some minimal scrapes and bruises.
I agree that the industry and the genre is being held back because of this but this is due t...
@DarthMarvin: What last gen hardware? The new Forza Motorsport is confirmed to be only on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Windows 10 PCs, with no Xbox One support.
while i agree they had some terrible years, to say that they never had good moments is an exaggeration.
Just of the top of my head, some clear great moments had Halo pretty much defined console FPS, Gears of War the 3rd person cover shooters, the xbox live made online gaming on consoles accessible and it was working very well, the xbox arcade helped the indie craze, the achievements started a frenzy, the 360 controller was excellent, forza horizon has been the best open world racing...
I think you are probably right.
I am not saying its not great to use eco friendly packaging but I am certain that the reason wasn't to "save the planet" but to save pennies. Much like Apple's removal of the charger from each iphone box.
To be fair, they had a nice lineup in the original Xbox and a pretty good one in 360 with great many exclusive games. It is during the Xbox One era that they fudged up. It is clear that they are making large investments lately and hopefully they will be able to move away from the lackluster last generation and have a competitive selection of games.
Indeed, I was almost certain that they had closed down sometime ago :P
If you don't view it as ME4 (and you shouldn't as it was always meant to be something else), there is a very enjoyable game here.
Frankly, I enjoyed a lot the "Space Frontier Western" vibe it had, it was very refreshing to have this rough, frontier colonization in front of us. I've only seen something similar in 1 JRPG and not even close to the extent and feel this game had.
It is an Xbox only website, makes sense for them to write only for the Xbox version. Same thing happens in Nintendo only and Sony only websites, they don't mention other platforms because they don't care, they don't cover the rest of the industry.
I disagree. I can and do blame gamers for their obsession with preorders. With the exception of the very few trully collectible editions (and not for games like CoD where collectibles number in the hundreds of thousands) for collectors, then for all other purposes it makes no sense to preorder a game without having read reviews first.
ESPECIALLY a digital version. The 5-10$ discount you might have gotten is almost instantly found in various stores and if you wait 1 month you will ge...
The whole deal feels less like a push from MS to have Gamestop sell Xbox over PS5 and more an effort to avoid Gamestop pushing PS5 more than Xbox. Xbox with its gamepass is actually a big issue for such retailers who survive by game sales, so normally they wouldn't wont to promote it that much as it would hurt their sales. I think this agreement is done so that Gamestop's profits balance out against the losses they will have due to gamepass.
It is actually timed exclusive to Xbox Series X for next gen. It will come on PS5 in March but on XSX (and X1 and PC and PS4) it will be out in November
One very important thing to note. Current gen games are huge because devs have to write the same data 2-3-4 times in a standard hard drive, so that the system can read them faster. With the new consoles being on SSDs, this is no longer necessary, which will save a lot in the installation sizes. Add to that the fact that you wont need to download 4k assets in this version and the capability to install/uninstall only single player/multiplayer parts of a game, this will also help massively.
There was a VERY simple reason why. Because it would automatically look like they are behind Sony. Xbox 360 would have been Xbox 2 against PS3. Xbox One --> Xbox 3 against PS4.
It looks very bad from a marketing perspective and it subliminally implies that this is worse that the competition.
To be fair, the big issue was One, it created a confusion similar to the Wii U debacle.
I believe their change to "series" is the way to address this issue and from...
The reviewer stated that he played the game for many dozens of hours and is experienced with such games, having played F76, Anthem, Division etc for hundreds of hours. He simply felt that this is much worse than those games at their launch status.
With regards to the website now, it has approx. 15y in the industry and is the oldest and most accomplished in its country, with a long history and proven history of adhering to very strict rules in the publishing of any review. But they do...
Its like comparing apples and burgers. Both are edible foods but comparing a single player action adventure with a hardcore strategy is just plain wrong.
Youtubers & Influencers (And I am being very specific on this as Ubisoft is very frankly pushing aside medium & small traditional media and going instead to youtubers and influencers) have played quite a few hours of Legion, Valhalla and some other stuff over the last few days, so that they can release their videos with their previews and thoughts after the Ubisoft Event on the 12th.
No Tyranny on this list? The epitome of evil in RPGs?
The excuse that the game was too big is ludicrous. we have seen many massive games being released these years.
The real reason is what happened behind the Hobbit film trilogy, greed. They are simply trying to milk this as much as possible knowing people adore this game.
you pretty much described every subway or train of a large city or major line. And its not 50-100k people that use them, but millions. I do get the point about conventions, i've been to many of them, E3 included. But putting things into perspective, most of the people living in major city centers enter places with a massively larger turnaround than the largest convention. Even basic things, like Mc Donalds and Starbucks at central areas get insane amounts of traffic and they all touch the...
@enkiduxiv, like I also said, that is one of the two available options. But racing gamers HATE seeing "Redstar" instead of Ferrari or "Germania" instead of Porshe.
This is ok in an arcade racing game but in a simulation, people really hate it (as we have seen many times in the past in sim games where 1-2 licences were not available).
Also, even if you use fake names, if the design of the car is exactly the same as the real, you could be liable for the co...
