To continue with your weird example, for me PS3/xbox 360 would be normal twins, Nintendo WiiU would be your son that is faster, smarter, and then Xbox720/PS4 which are basically Chuck Norris.
To put it simple terms, no matter how much I tweak my Honda Civic, it will never be a Ferrari.
Agreed. Sometimes I wish Nintendo was a software company only, their hardware makes them always go one generation late in all their games, and lack features that are standard in every other platform but theirs, like said online gaming until recently. It's a pity because 3ds cloud gaming from WiiU would be incredible, and the technology is there as we've seen with remote play on the tablet, but yet again Nintendo will be 1 generation late with that feature, like always.
Agreed, the good thing about KZ Vita is that, other than probably being a great game, it really shows what the Vita is really capable of and should raise the bar of what to expect visually from now on.
I think so too, this is the kind of game we came to expect from Nintendo or good ol' Rare, but Nintendo lately can't think out of Mario and Rare is dead in MS hands.
You also forgot Soul Sacrifice, unforgivable
Yeah, Psychonauts HD on Vita, Sony make it happen.
This game is so beautiful, 2013 is looking good for Vita
I had a 3ds and sold it because, you know, carrying 3ds, vita and a cellphone in my pockets made me look... funny, so I had to choose one to get rid off, Vita won because I love fighting games and Vita owns 3ds in that genre, having two portables doesn't make much sense since you can only carry one, and after watching this, I think I took the right decision.
I couldn't agree more. Suddenly Phantom Pain on Vita doesn't look impossible anymore.
The problem is that the big guns (zelda, mario etc) are at least a year away, and by then MS and Sony next gen consoles will be around, and things may get ugly for Nintendo by then, Zelda and Mario or not.
Really, what was Nintendo thinking with their release schedule for the WiiU? It's hard to believe they don't have single big franchise out or coming in the next 6 months, this could cost them everything.
And sorry, but 3ds out of Japan is going down fast,...
Wow, so lowering sales expectations is a good thing? really fanboyism can make you lose touch with the real world in serious ways.
Mostly I agree with this article. More than the games we saw, it's rather disturbing to see how early Nintendo is in their main franchises development. Nothing to show on the new Zelda, MKart or Mario, yoshi was many screens and not much more. What where they doing these recent years when the Wii sold out everywhere? They should have focus on WiiU software.
@Neonridr yeah N64 launched with only three games, but one of them was among the best games ever done and redefined a w...
I couldn't agree more with this article.
The thing is that if you have a Nintendo console, you're probably playing new iterations of yet the same games you were already playing in snes, N64 or gamecube.
Sony and MS have created lots of new franchises in the last two generations, some where more successful than others, while many are currently well known AAA efforts. Yet Nintendo seems to be completely trapped in the same franchises from several generations...
Also DOA5+, Sly Cooper, Ninja gaiden 2, muramasa, God Eater 2, FFX HD, etc. Lots of good stuff coming
I'm still not interested in the WiiU. I need at least 4 or 5 exclusive games that I like to spend so much money, and for me it's hard to find even one. Right now only SMB looks interesting but not a must have, it's a 2d mario after all.
Most interesting announcements were things we knew would happen anyway like a new mario, mario kart and zelda, and those are years away, the remake of Wind Waker doesn't interest me much since it was probably the worst modern ...
The big problem is that the real next gen is almost here, so the WiiU draught is a lot worse since now it should be when the Wii U pushes sales harder taking advantage of their head start, but there are no games to help with that. New Zelda in two years? second gen PS4/xbox720 games will be around, and then Zelda will look like a iphone game in comparison
If they make it pocketable, I'll get one if the price is right. At home I can connect to Steam and play some PC games, on the go I have Tegra games and what not, looks good to me.
Like the wii in the beginning, I think we don't like it because wer're not it's core demographic. It's cool for families who share the main TV and the father wants to play some high end games on the couch mostly. I'm quite surprised how much portables are played at home, so don&...
yeah Nintendo, there yo go, taking risks with new franchises, well done.
Quite ironic, since snes was the most powerful console of its time.
