Hey, you know, I think this this is not Nintendo hate, this is payback.
Last gen Nintendo completely forgot about their core fans. I was amazed about several E3 with Nintendo (Nintendo!!! the holy mother of gaming!!) telling us that we should dance, that now you can control your blood pressure, that here's our yet again new stupid collection of motion gaming minigames, that you can stay fit!

I think that just like PS2 hype killed the dreamcast, PS4/XboxNext hype may kill the WiiU.
next gen hype is holding LOTS of sales, and developers are stepping down from WiiU since the system is not moving enough sales, making it a catch 22.

The problem here is that people think that current ports of console games on PC, with better resolutions and textures, is all the improvement you'll get in next gen consoles.
We're forgetting that no game is developed exclusively for PC to take full advantage of it's technology, instead, PCs only get ports of those games, and that can be misleading.
Atari is cursed, I've seen atari crash 3 or 4 times by now, someone always picks it up, and it crashes not too long after that
Like it or not, japan is not as important as it once was. JRPGs / SRPGs sales are incredibly low on the west, they love dating simulators, dynasty warriors clones, hunting games and manga ports which are niche here. They are even losing ground on traditionally solid genres like beat em ups, where their latest efforts like Ninja Gaiden 3 are terrible vs western God of War, and even DMC is now developed in the west. Why would Squarenix invest millions on an engine that only works on a top of the line PC? That's absurd. I'm sure their engine is done specifically to work on next gen consoles, so that demo should be really close to what next gen games can do.
I see those images and it reminds me the first time I saw Gears of War, asking myself "that stuff can't be real, that game can't really look that good on my console", and hell it did. Now I feel the same. If next gen looks like that, R.I.P. WiiU.
If it blows my mind, sure. Besides, my $600 ps3 still works like day one, and I swear I've already had 5 white xbox and all of them got RROD sooner or later. So next gen it's PS4 for me, even more if they make PS4 to take advantage of my Vita. MS is a big NO for me right now, though I'll have to see what are their next gen plans first.

I think maybe the 3ds is killing the WiiU.
Nintendo, after worrying sales of 3ds, cut its price by a huge $80, making everyone that trusted Nintendo and purchased it on day one look stupid.
So now, people may be expecting a new 3ds like price cut now that WiiU is not selling too well, just like 3ds did early on, and so making early adopters think twice.

I think it's not the same for three reasons:
1) Price, xbox had two skus for $400 and $350, so in comparison WiiU should be selling better than xbox.
2) Innovation. Xbox had a) huge leap in graphics from SD to HD b) xbox live with online gaming, which both made it look like a big upgrade over their predecessors and justified the purchase. WiiU only has a tablet controller to differentiate itself, and it's not a good enough reason looking at current s...
It will sell well on WiiU because it will still won't have many games to choose from, yeah maybe Mario and ZeldaHD would be around (maybe, you know Ninty...), but not much more, and adding current gen to the mix can only grant better sales, together with a bigger wiiu installed base by then. Also, hopefully backwards compatible PS4/Xbox720 would make the game an option for those too.
I think Ubi took that decision probably based on poor sales on ZombiU and lower wiiu install...
Actually this was the only game, maybe with SMBU that made me think for a second on getting a WiiU, I've no interest on Pikmin, Lego city and other games coming in the next few months for WiiU. I hope we get a Vita version, Rayman Origins looked incredible on the Vita, or at least we get some sort of remote play.

With those numbers a sequel is granted, besides the graphic engine is already there, so now it will be a lot easier to simply add more quality content.
