HD came out like a decade ago, the adoption rate for HD was slow, mostly because the price was in the thousands, 4-6k. + not much content at that time. People at that time thought it was a gimmic too ;). Only in the past year/2 years that HD adoption grew. More tv will come standard with 3D, in the coming years.

If they dont have HD now, it is more likely they would buy a 3D tv when they want to get a new TV.
it also cost more to have 2/3/4 dvds for 360

they dont sit for 1 month [when the game is going gold] + release time, to go hmmm, the game didnt do as well as LBP, maybe we should create a new IP. They probably had plans a [few] months before LBP2 was released.

2) PS3 will continue to sell when PS4 is out (when ever it comes out) [PS2 is still selling]
