They rolled the dice with an expensive advertising campaign and it is paying off. Now many gamers that passed on ME1 are giving 2 a chance and seeing how wonderful it is. Having such a great game made it worth the gamble of such an ad campaign. It still would have sold to all of us die hard fans but scooped up many that otherwise wouldn't have even heard of the game. I know plenty of people that play games and don't look at games sites or publications. They only hear about the popular new gam...
@Fanboi-
You are calling Fallout 3 short? Wow.
I guess I am really slow at video games. I will actually be disappointed if it only takes me 30 hours to finish this game. I know I have put way more than that into Dragon Age and I am still not finished. I have 200+ hours into each of Sacred 2, Fallout 3, and Demon's Soul's. Sure, that is repeat plays and DLC in the case of Fallout 3 but I consider an epic game a game that lasts me well over 100 hours. If I finish in 30 hours and put Mass Effect 2 on the shelf, never to be played again, I wi...
You have one version that most of us Halo fans would gladly pay $60 for and a free version with ads between matchmaking matches. You'd get more players and they would quickly go to the $60 version after getting tired of the 30-60 ads taking up additional time. Obviously there would be two pools of people. The ad based group and the licensed users group. It is not much different than now really. The way they add new maps you have to buy and people who don't have them cannot play. The only diff...
The game isn't that good. I don't mind shelling out $60 for a game at all, but when you get so bored of it in less than three hours, it is just a waste. With so many other great games this year, I don't even think I'll go back and give it a chance. Some most like it I guess. Oh, and great marketing because I was fooled into thinking this one was going to be fantastic. Oh well... no big deal.
During the bluray wars with HD-DVD, it was talked about a lot that a dual disc with bluray and DVD could NOT BE MADE. That was one of the selling points of HD-DVD. They had dual discs. You don't hear much anymore about the fact that bluray/dvd cannot be done.
I doesn't matter how good a system is if the games aren't there. I love my 360s (have two). I like my PS3. I mildly enjoy my (wife's) wii.
Sure, it felt good dusting off the controllers for Demon's Soul's, which is easily in my top 10 games of all time. But MOST of my gaming is done on my 360. If a game is available for both systems, I ALWAYS buy the 360 version. My son and I are currently enjoying Borderlands on 360 and I just picked up Dragon's Age and NHL10 for the 360 (as we...

"very few people have the know how to do that..."
Setting up a wireless bridge is just as easy or easier than installing the wireless router in the first place or configuring a wireless adapter securely.
If you are like me, you have MULTIPLE devices in your entertainment center that are Internet connected. I have a PS3, wii, 360, HD-DVR player, DirecTV HD-DVR all hard wired to a wireless bridge that connects to my wireless router at the other end of the house. It would be totally FOOLISH to buy an individual wireless device for each item or configure its built in wireless settings to connect to my WPA network. Just buy an individual wireless bridge (and hub if necessary) and stop the madness ...
That's intelligent Mr article writer with the screenshot. Running Limewire on your main box I mean. Somebody is asking for trouble. As for 9.5 being the real score, it doesn't come as much of a surprise. We were all expecting it to be good, wheren't we?
I buy all my multi-platform titles for the 360, so it isn't surprising that I automatically bought this title for the 360 without comparing reviews between platforms. I looked at the 360 or overall previews and reviews and thought it looked good so I picked it up on release day.
But I haven't even played it yet. It truly is a crowded gaming season this fall. I purchased Halo ODST, barely got into it, and then I dusted off my PS3 and have been playing Demon's Soul's ever since. B...
I played them back to back. I bought 1 right around the time 2 came out, played it and LOVED it. Part 2 was a pretty big let down. The PSP game was sort of a let down too but that is more of a side note that I am even saying that.
Having that said. I would be OK with a Resistance 3, but I think they really need to take it back to a place where Resistance fans will want to see it. Take it back to the same weapon system as the first one. Give it the same style. They tried too hard...
No, I don't think so.
Sure, eventually they will raise the price like everything. But it will be inflation based, which would not be a doubling of the price. I could see it going to $60 maybe, and $70 a few years later, and $80, and so forth. But it isn't going to just double.
I prefer Live to PSN (although I cannot get enough of Demon's Soul's these days on my PS3, 60+ hours in 8 days), and don't mind paying for it. But I have THREE accounts. One for myself, the w...
Microsoft Xbox 360 said "This will open doors to more ODST-like packaging. Say goodbye to decently priced DLC. "
No offense but this is really foolish. DLC is the wave of the future. It increases the profitability for the companies by reducing distribution cost. I personally love having a tangible piece of media I can go buy, unwrap, and put on my shelf. I don't want everything to be DLC but that is where things are headed in the future. Not the other way around. I wish...
What a misleading article. The title makes it sound like MS actually picked up and stopped selling in Japan. "Finished" in my mind means finished. If I am finished with a job, I have packed up my things and left the job site. It isn't the same thing as somebody not liking me and telling everybody that I am "finished" or defeated. That would be an opinion, not a fact.
Finished, in one sites opinion as a term for defeat, is very misleading. This is an opinion. ...
This article gives me douche chills. At times in my life I have been in mixed company where somebody says something really stupid and I feel embarrassed for them, like I could crawl under a rock on their behalf. This is one of those times, to a lesser extent because it is online, not in person.
Who cares about the personal beliefs about this guy behind the game? I sure don't. Do you boycott a lawn care service because the owner is pro choice? Do you boycott a fruit stand becaus...
The real story here is that Kmart still exists. I didn't know that. Good for them I guess.
That is really stupid. Like the closed toilet seat is so dirty. Any dirtier than a freight truck? You'll notice that the bottom box is not even touching the floor. it is sitting on a different sort of a box or something.
Having worked at fast food places as a teenager and factory environments before college, including a cheese processing plant, you people have way more things to worry about than this. Honestly.
Was it smart to let this picture out? No. Is it a big ...

You are right that you do not need to be a computer professional to know your computer is getting slower. But MANY people don't know why and think they need a new computer. I mention my profession as it pertains to the topic. Gives me some credibility with my advice. There is a huge difference between "I am a certified mechanic and have owned my garage for 10 years, and my advice is xxxxxxx" and "I drive a car, and it doesn't take a professional to know th...
The game is fantastic.
I am really getting sick of the moaning about the planet scanning process and mining. It is such a SMALL percentage of your time playing. Less than 3% of my time playing and I have a stockpile of over 100K of each of the elements except the hard one, zero. Stop and think about other RPGs where you grind for exp. This is a much, much, much more redundant and boring process. I myself spent HOURS grinding at Demon's Souls most recently and before that it was ...
