If not then whatever their faults, they can't be considered evil. Let's not treat mere greed and poor business practice as "evil."

This type characterization will now mean that normative, marginal, and illegal BUSINESS PRACTICES can be characterized in the same manner as we characterize truly evil acts such as ... (you fill in the blanks: Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Kim Il Song, etc.).

Let's reserve those special words for those special acts so tha...

Come on.

Instead of trying to belittle MS/Netflix integration, you should be calling on Sony to up their support to include Netflix.

Please stop defending lack of an extremely useful feature. Start a petition so that Sony can bring Netflix in to its fold.

This FUD spread is the height of fanboyism.

They're very much aware of the well received Netflix integration. Instead of trying to FUD the consumers, they should be focusing on providing their own Netflix support, for free of course.

This will compel MS to drop the Gold price or give up their marketshare.

I'm just wondering what deal MS has with Netflix to deliver this content. Wonder if it is some calculated percentage of Live fees... I always suspected that Live fees has some kind of kickback to the c...

If PS3 supports Netflix natively (guarenteed)
If PS3 starts to sell in higher numbers than Xbox consistently (depends on how much)
If sales of Xbox begins to tank (depends on how bad)

Definitely if PS3 supports Netflix without additional cost other than Netflix subscription fee, then I will purchase a PS3 and drop the Xbox Gold subscription; unless MS matches with free Gold Live, in which case I'll probably not buy a PS3.

The ball is in Sony's court...

Running out of HD space and even if I had a gig, I would have deleted this one.

I've not played previous versions of this before on XBox but the guy moves really really really slow. Why are the controls so cumbersome? I don't need to have it lightning snap but I feel like I'm controlling a robot all the time with a lag in the 0.2 sec range.

The last time I felt this level of frustration was with RE4 on the Wii. Another really weird control scheme.

No matter if price drop occurs or not, Sony will not appreciate this type of speculation.

All this does is add more FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) about PS3 for potential customers.

For myself, I certain will now wait until this drop pans out.

Meanwhile, one less customer for Sony.

Perhaps MS be behind this rumor...

Community, ethics, culture and emotion.

Is this it? Does this mean Halo3 is also a religion? How about Table Tennis? Twitter? Football? Food club? Wine club?

Sounds like an atheist view of religion.

Please, how rich do you think MS is? Sure they arranged a deal with R* for GTA but that's more of a loan than payoff.

Why is it that SonyBoys think MS has to keep paying off devs to get games on Xbox? Do you think perhaps that MS is not paying them off but there's actually money to be made in developing for Xbox?

Geez... do you think maybe devs like to sell their games rather than get handouts from MS?

see my previous posts for details, summary follows:

Popularity of Wii will divert attention away from PS360 which will be left holding the bag. If one of the two dies then both will die as developers will no longer bother with the other; hi-def content costs too much, and potential payoff for Wii will overwhelm the dev houses with $$s in eyes.

SonyBoys should stop wishing death for 360 (and viceversa for XBoys) as these two consoles are driving Hi-Def/NextGen ga...

My understanding is that the $50 mil is guarentee money that MS put up for delivering DLC.

Proceeds from DLC sales will go first to MS until the $50 mil is "repaid" and then any leftovers will go to R*. This spans both episodes.

This arrangement minimizes risk for R* and maximizes value for MS.

MS did not give free money to R*. They did provide a free loan and some risk assumption though; it does mean that MS will promote the hell ou...

There's absolutely no need for that sort of nonsense. Seems like you get some satisfaction by comparing Sony performance against MS.

Unless you're in long for one and shorting the other, it makes no sense.

Just bash the Wii if you want to continue with your hi-def console gaming, else Wii will act to suck up all the gaming $$ and send you back to waggle-happy-heaven-place.

I've no idea why Sony would be in any trouble at all. For that matter why XBox would be in trouble. They're both solid consoles that blows Wii out of the water. Once people get a hold of Netflix-On-Xbox, they're totally sold. Same thing with Blue-ray on PS3.

The only problem either will experience is if the other goes down for the count. Then you have only one against the Wii in competition for dev resource...

Chicken and egg(s) problem.

(Chicken) gamers are waiting for drop in PS3 price & better game library before console purchase

(Egg 1) Sony needs to sell more games to cover console price drop

(Egg 2) dev houses are looking at attach rate and console marketshare before devoting dev resources to PS3 games

PS3 game library is not so much an issue anymore so we're basically left with price as the main problem.

Current e...

RPGs, even action oriented ones like this one, isn't likely to create that much of a performance problem for the console. This means that performance tweaking that usually has to take place is less intense and less a determining factor in the release schedule.

If parallel development (actually staggered development) were to take place (utilizing same content but different studios) then it will make a lot of sense to release on both platforms.

Ultimately, if port...

They should not have made Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) so user-friendly. According to this guy, by making it so easy to use, they've maxed out my creativity, cause you know, I've got nothing better to do than to learn how to use a piece of software.

/sarcasm off

That's really what an SDK is for devs. It's just a set of applications and tools that allows software programmers to get the job done, which in this case is to make games; dev's job is not to learn...

I'm sure this will be a milestone game for PS3; many signs point that way. It'll be a lot more interesting to know why Sony thinks it can't be done on XBox. I'd be sorta curious to know.

If they can specify why commonly used workarounds (porting from PS3 to XBox) don't work on this game, then I'd be inclined to believe that this is more than just marketing gibberish. Otherwise, it's just fodder for fanboys' egos.

So far as I can see, the only games that aren't...

Some people seems to think that this is a valid comparison. I don't know why its valid. Its sort of like comparing Jordan to Magic when both were at the top of their game.

Is it of interest? Definitely, as fans talk about it incessantly.

It is meaningful in any shape or form, NO. Why? No trophies! No Championships! No tangible gimmes. No records, no photos, no videos, no nothing except the imagination of the fans.

Stop the idiotic dream. ...
