SplinterCell doesn't lose its edge, it just gets better and better.
This new version is going to kick so much ass, I cannot wait. Guess I need to tell the gf that plans for tonight changed... its demo time.
GTA IV was a masterpiece in every respect. The level design, the tech, the story, the sheer amount of satire and savvy jibes all throughout the game world. And yes, it was damn fun as well.
The only game that I enjoyed as much, from start to finish, was BioShock and CoD Mod 2's campaign. And those 3 are the only 3 campaigns that really wowed me.
And Sigma shouldn't be on this list if Gaiden 2 is.
Otherwise, a very well done list, pulled games from every ...
Yeah, its a huge step up. The company they used to be in made pool games too, was Blade Interactive I believe, made the World Championship Pool titles.
I'm hoping for some sweet info next week.
The boss battles got difficult sometimes, but most of them were very fun. Honestly, it was the regular battles that got a bit dry.
It also got a bit difficult with the stupid energy draining thing. I really hated that about the game.
The action games on GC/PS2/Xbox were definitely good, but they didn't have much for RPG elements. And I never tried the Third Age or Conquest, since I didn't hear anything good about them.
But from the early tidbits they've announced, this sounds more RPG-like. Kind of a mini-Lord of the Rings Online without the monthly fees. And with a newer engine and better graphics, I hope. I'm definitely excited.
Until 2011 though, I'll just have to keep playing Battle for Middl...
Very interesting piece, and tons of good pics. Thanks for the good article, I wish there were more original and interesting pieces like this on N4G.
I think the entire reason he brought up the graphics comparison is just to say that Gears 3 should be on PS3.
I mean, I own a 360 but even I wouldn't argue that a 2010 1st-party PS3 game loses out to a 2008 game (Gears 2). And seeing as we don't have a SINGLE screenshot of Gears 3, there is absolutely no way to compare that to God of War 3. When we DO see screens, I think they'll look amazing, there was a huge jump in UE3 from Gears 1 to 2, and I think they'll do it again for Ge...
Your second post was the same as your first, just using more details to show they are different. Apparently you missed the entire point of my comment, let me reiterate it for you:
"You can dress any of these games up in fancy language to make them sound totally unique, or dumb any of them down with stupid language to make them sound totally unoriginal. The truth is, all of them are somewhere in between. So quit bashing on everyone else's games, and just enjoy yours." <...
It seems that all the hate and arguing is still going on here, with a crappily written article (for the reasons listed above, the biased selective decisions the writer made to make things LOOK like they are the same).
If you'd like to see a straight-up comparison of exclusive sales data, organized nicely and all from a single-source (not like this guy, who pulled his Halo 3 data from a January 2008 source), check this one:
Youngkiller, you named 4 action games and 2 shooters. Dressing them up in fancier language about their setting doesn't change the base genres they come from.
Ronster named 5 shooters, 2 horror titles, and an RPG. Neither one of you is showing much diversity in the line up. ...
I don't think anyone can fairly call EITHER side forgettable or bad. Those are some amazing titles on both sides of the line, enough to keep both Xbox and PS3 owners happy and busy.
I wonder how it'd look if I put the Wii over-1-million club next to those guys... I'm sure their list would be much much longer, but might not look as good. What do you guys think?
@ EvilDead
Yeah, I made no effort to hide which article I'm responding to. That one was really bad, there was nothing logical, scientific, or journalistically responsible about it. But yet I doubt mine will get as high heat, because the inaccuracies of his drove up the popularity. Its sad that sometimes misleading articles get more attention than true ones.
As for your comment on the number of games that sold X million, I saw those numbers as well. I'm just trying to point...
Looks pretty cool, I wish I had a PSP to play it. Are there any downloadable versions for PSN or XBLA that anyone knows of?
As I promised earlier, I compiled an unbiased list of the top system exclusives, the only criteria being that the game has sold at least 1 million copies.
Here's the article, with the list and a small breakdown of the numbers at the end: http://resumeplay.net/2010/...
Let me know what you think, after seeing the actual numbers compared.
He says that the point of the article is to compare data to see which system's exclusives sell better.
But if he really wanted to do this in a scientific or responsible manner, he would have picked the top 5 to compare, or some similar reasoning. Instead, he picked whatever 5 he wanted to, and happened to pick ones of the same numbers. There was no scientific rational to which games he picked, thus his CHOICE of games decides what the outcome looks like.
Yes, the fac...
Whether the conclusions are accurate or not, this is absolutely a HORRIBLE way of comparing the data.
Anyone who does any research can see by the 2nd paragraph that this is not at all a scientific or logical way of comparing the data. He is picking random games to compare together, and just so happens to be picking ones with the same sales data.
And frankly, games that are on 360 and PC SHOULD be on this list, since he is comparing the 360 to the PS3.
UP...
Yeah, it'd be really nice to see them continue that trend. Doing a full game with the scare-factor and the varied pacing of Lost in Nightmares would be fantastic.
And seeing as many critics knocked 5 for not being scary enough, I think they need to address that in the next version. So I wouldn't be surprised if this was a little test pilot for them, to see if it still works.
And a lie is when you try to actually mislead everyone, this is a humor article, not a lie.
It's quite obvious if you read the description or the article itself that this isn't an actual event. I never tried to pass it off as such. And no, I didn't put BS Article of the Week in the title for N4G because the homepage only shows the beginning of your title, so if I had I wouldn't be able to fit the actual name of the article in. And no one would know the actual topic of the article...
Yeah I don't really get that. It's not like I said anything controversial, I don't know what they're disagreeing with. The fact that I poke fun at fanboys? Everyone's a little bit fanboy.
I've already started working on next weeks. It's going to be huge, I break the news on Miyamoto's new project. Suffice it to say, he might not be redeeming himself after Wii Music.
Where did stoppre say anything about NBA Jam? I don't see any comments by him at all on here. Or any about NBA Jam.
Update: nm, just realized he's responding to comments on ResumePlay.
