I do enjoy a nice Indie game, especially since they seem to be the only thing keeping any kind of creativity and originality in gaming but c'mon, you have to admit it would be nice to have more to show off the capabilities of the consoles we just paid for. These things were not cheap and spending so long playing games that could just as easily be played on the consoles we already owned (or games we did already play on those consoles) can be annoying.
I just wish makers of licensed games would learn that we like the original properties because of their tone, pacing, direction etc and that simply putting a Michael Bay experience in that game world is not what we want. Maybe I should be speaking just for myself here but I really am tired of playing through Star Wars, Lord of the rings and many other worlds as if they were directed by a Michael Bay.
That was my main thought when I recently considered purchasing Murdered: Soul suspect. A lot of things about the game seemed interesting but I just can't take any more of playing as 'that guy' right now. That handsome guy in his mid-thirties with the gravelly voice and the five o'clock shadow.
Still, I really don't think the answer is deciding to arbitrarily make him a woman or a black guy or anything else. With most games that have a protagonist of another r...
What do you mean? It might not be the most intelligible sentence ever, but it certainly wordly good precisely reading to me.
The weird thing about this game is that it seems to me like every aspect of it gets steadily better the further into it you get. It starts out kinda okay but nothing special but then each new mission seems to be just a little more fun than the one that preceded it. The writing seems to get better as it goes on too and while I'm sure it must just be my imagination or my getting used to the style or whatever but it actually seems like even the graphics get better as the game goes on.
So far Watch dogs is reminding me of AC3 more than anything else. There are many flashes of what could have been brilliance but it's all so scattershot and feels like it was pieced together by too many different people doing too many different things.with no clear idea of how it was all going to fit together and there's no central heart or vision to it. I would guarantee it was made in the exact same way AC3 was made.
The lighting in GTAV is much better than that of Watch dogs. As people have said, at night in the rain it can look pretty good but in broad daylight it's all so flat and washed out looking. Even on a dry night the city has that thing I thought we had left behind last generation. That thing where you can see everything in the distance as clear as day only it's all coloured dark blue. It reminds me more than anything else of the first game in the Prototype franchise. It just lacks any a...
Probably the best videogame related piece I've seen this year, I can't believe I didn't watch this sooner. I hadn't even thought of how filling in the map yourself rather than having it laid out for you makes for a more immersive experience but it really does.
That first step outside of the Vault in Fallout 3 was so amazing because you had no idea what would be waiting for you out there as far as the eye could see. In fact I purposefully avoided selecting the...
I do hate most games that advertise themselves as 'mature' as that usually means nothing more than the same cheesy shallow plot but with lots of sad piano music and an overwhelming sense of taking itself far too seriously.
I think maturity comes from writing more original characters with multidimensional personalities and relying less on old generic character archetypes rather than any po-faced attempts at 'tackling important issues' or 'gaining respectabilit...
Are you sure it's a mistake? Maybe the new Assassin and pre-order bonus belong to Poster show and were leaked by Assassin's creed Unity.
Why would I be trolling? Look at my comment history. I've expressed that I didn't expect more than a timekiller from this game but I've never 'trolled' before.
About the street crimes, I should've clarified that you do indeed see people snatch bags and run but so far all of the more interesting side crimes (ones involving text message interception etc) seem to be started by hacking a phone, waiting for the game to ask me to press down on the d pad, th...
Update. Boy this game sucks so far.
The character models are truly ugly. I was prepared for a game that didn't look dazzling (even if that is what they had tried to sell it as) but there are things about this game that look truly ugly. I was expecting about the same good looks as AC4 but this game doesn't come close to that the characters look so incredibly lifeless and just plain flat. Wolfenstein is a ps4 game I have played that doesn't amaze with its visuals bu...
I've literally only just started this game on ps4. Just left my hideout for the first time and been encouraged to look for potential crimes so I'm still reserving judgement on the game overall but so far I am pretty surprised at the lack of polish I've seen already.
From the bigger things like the grainy look that has anything in the distance sparkling and jumping which I really thought was the one thing we could be sure not to get this generation, or the fact tha...
I find that offensive, Allsystemganer. I'm a brain dead idiot and take myself very seriously. You have no right to go around claiming that I would get shot out right away in a game of paintball. I would try to explain to you the harm you have done by disparaging me and my fellow idiots but I'm afraid we're beyond that. I'm afraid this beef can only be settled..... in the paintball arena. Oh yes, that's right, it's on.
Rapelay and Custer's revenge reboots confirmed.
Eeeeeeew. If only you people had the decency to care how much this insincere white knighting damages genuine movements for equality.
I can't help but feel like gaming is really finished. The high monetary stakes have just ruined most of the big game companies. There are no new worlds to explore, no creative risks taken, it's just transparent attempts to generate income from the lowest common denominator. It's just like what happened to the movie industry. None of this shit excites me in any way any more, not Battlecry, not Bloodstorm, not Warkiller, not Stormfighter, not any of the generic reheated crap we'...
You've almost made me want to buy this game. LAME APPROVAL!!!
Oh well, they've lost the obnoxious teenybopper quick-cut vlogger vote.
Wait, my scan shows that you made that comment from a stolen mobile phone. All units. All units. Suspected thief of small items. Shoot to kill. Repeat. Shoot to kill. Block all roads and magically appear in all back alleys and many other places you could not have logically gotten into without being seen by the suspect.
