I wouldn't cut the price until the price for scorpio is released, no sense in lowering profits until then as they sit comfortably at the top.
At the 600 dollar launch price it was still the CHEAPEST blu ray player on the market at the time, and almost single handedly made HD dvd extinct. I remember all the talk about 'I want to play games, not an overpriced media machine' then just like I predicted xbox copied them the next gen. Blu ray was perfect for GAMES and now all those same stupid loyalists are gloating about the 4k blu ray player in the xbox 1s. It's so hilarious how things ended up.
Reveal Sucker Punch's game, show gameplay for 3-4 of the new exclusives, and make small price cuts, that would be perfection. Then right as you think they're done announce a brand new exclusive.

Price cuts and new games, that's all they got. Focusing on the 'power' of scorpio will do absolutely nothing. Now releasing scorpio at 300 dollars? That would be a good move. Also come out with some surprise exclusives no one knew about, not nonsense like crackdown.
That's all they seem to have going right now. Making a new ip an xbox exclusive at this point would be foolish. And I'm telling you now that if scorpio costs a dime over 400 it will be DOA, mark my words.
Unless there are some monster exclusives coming to scorpio at launch that they are keeping secret then there's not a chance they will even make a dent. All sony needs to do is show gameplay for games we know are coming like Detroit become human or spiderman then announce what sucker punch is working on. Then to put a huge nail in the coffin for potential momentum the scorpio could get they can simply put a price cut on the pro......game over.

If the insane lineup they already have forecasted isn't enough for you chances are you were probably never gonna get a ps4 anyway. Only target they're not hitting is exclusive fps games but the multiplat lineup in that genre makes it an empty argument.
