Sony is a business the lost almost a billion dollars on the launch of the system. The stockholders would remove the management team if they decided to lose more money, when the system is gaining in sales. They are starting to recover from the launch experience. They will only sell the PS3 at break even or a profit from now on.
Ms dropped their price before madden and that was it. Anyone with any sense can see that their strategy is to drop their prices just before the biggest third party releases. So expect another before GTA 4 in the US. And this will be their second price drop. The first was for $50 for the pro to $349. It was only a $50 price drop compared to the PS3's $200 price drop in $100 increments in July and November.

There is nothing wrong with a $300 player, but $30 movies is not good. What is the incentive to replace a movie you already have?Picture quality versus cost? No way.
Why not go to the local best buy and steal software as well? People gave their time and effort to make that game. They deserve to be compensated for their efforts every time that game is played.

This price drop is a part of their business strategy. They dropped the price right before madden was released and now they are doing the same before GTA4 is released. They want to put separation between their system and the ps3 when these massively selling games come out so that people chose the 360 as their console to play these multi platform games. You get to play your favorite game and saving money.

The article is about the 360. It states that very clearly. The PS3 is only brought up to compare the game line ups. He says nothing bad about Sony's games. So how is this article bias?
I love RPG's but once through is enough for me as I take my take usually 50 to 100 hours. Achievements make me want to play them a second time. Do I care that I am not at the top of the pile? No! Do I care that I have a respectable score? Yeah! Will I play a crappy game for points? Nah!

Other than those three games that you named it is the equivalent of any other JRPG. It may not be a classic for all time, but it is better than most of the crap we have been stuck with since ff7. Lost odyssey may have its issues with save points and some dungeon designs, but the game is fun. I like the fact that a random encounter can kill you. as for you maybe you have out grown the genre. This is the best time to be a gamer ever. whether you love 360, ps3 or wii you have some of the best games ever coming out to play. The only thing wrong is that these companies and analysts want a unified system so they can reduce their risk. Who cares I don't want to buy a piece of crap for a game. They want us to buy what they sell and don't really care if it is good or not. I say let the competition continue, until the decision making power is out of the hands of publishers and in the hand...

it must have a mass market to sell to. You do understand that economically the US is in the toilet. The pound is almost $3US and the Euro is $2. The value of an american dollar keeps shrinking. The country is losing jobs left and right to China, India and Vietnam. Most people here are living off of their credit cards. It is not a good look for food much less gaming.

To MS Live is the product not the 360. The 360 is just a means of getting you to live where they can achieve their dream of a digital future. you think they wouldn't license it if they could to another console manufacturer? They want the 360 to succeed, but they have live in mind for the long haul.
