Sony is still selling to the hardcore. MS has all but exhausted their market share of the hardcore, so they lower the price to reach new markets. Why should Sony lower their price right now when their market is still growing.

Start at $200 and only include $200 worth of technology in them. All this whining is damn annoying nobody is being forced to buy games or consoles. It is a hobby. Not one person needs to game to stay alive. If you can't afford it then do without and stop the damn whining.

Games would take forever to load. That much information is just to much data to look through. Developers have to make installs to the hard drive now to speed up load times imagine how big an install it would be with a 400GB disc. Shoot there is more data on the disc than the hard drive can hold. Save that stuff for the PS4 when disc read speeds are faster.
Edit: How long would it take a developer to fill up 400GB disc? And how much would it cost to develop such a game?

JasonXE when you sell 5 times as many consoles than your closest competitor even mediocre games should sell better on your console than most of the competitions. Need a different argument to prove Killzone 1 value.

According to this Killzone 1 only sold 750,000 copies. Two has to do better.
You can only sell so many units of a product at a certain price point. The 360 is hitting this limit. Sony had hit that same limit at $600 last summer and lowered the price and they got increased sales. Now MS has to lower the price to get closer to the casual market. And please remember last generation 90% of consoles sold after they dropped to sub $200.
Make it look more gritty and make is hard like Halo 1. And steal everything CoD 4 did and add much more in online.
Imagine someone building a car with Bose stereo system installed, then imagine the pain it is to do the same on another car after market. Every game that uses the xmb has to patched to work with it. Every game has to be patched for in game music. Sony has to give code for these things to developers in order to make them work. There is no magic here everything has to be done one piece at a time. The XMB fmay never work right on the PS3 because in the end it is an add on not a built in feature....
FFXIII will look good, but it is all about story and game play. FF has bored the crap out of me since 7. FF6 was the best not 7 and after 7 it has been all down hill. I really hope Sqaure/enix bring their A game with FFXIII. Just tired of long ho hum story with characters no one cares about.With Star Ocean at least you know they are going to everything but the kitchen sink in it to make it a fun game. And to be honest best RPG ever was Chronotrigger!
We now have the internet. So when someone complains everyone hears about it. I am sure some PS3 have frozen, just like some 360's freeze with their updates. It is never as many as people want to make it out to be. It is just that some don't work right and others jump on the bandwagon to make it seem worse than it really is.

Because MS will not be standing still. All this talk of PSN catching XBL presupposes that MS will not be upgrading and innovating XBL. That is ridiculous XBL has improved twice a year since it launched on the 360. Now why would that stop. I know there wasn't a spring update, but that doesn't mean there won't ever be another update again.
