you really have not been keeping up with whats going on or your far to optimistic
i dont even have the fastest connection, it ranges from 6 to 7 megabits which ends up being 700 to 800 kb per second when downloading and 10 GB is nothing to me, i know someone who downloaded god of war 3 which was 41 GB, took him 3 days to download it but he does not care, as long as you have unlimited download usage and patience...
the PS3 is 4 years old, technology advances very quickly

think about it this way
xperia play = mainly phone + gaming on the side
PSP2 = mainly gaming + phone on the side
if they can manage both i will certainly go for the PSP2

expansions as well as content they deem worth paying for
free MMO's have to get revenue somehow, how else are the servers going to keep running/staff get paid etc?

that wont happen, the 360 and wii have been heavily pirated for years and yet they still sell a decent ammount of software every year
fail0verflow was going to do this anyway but sony certainly sped up the process, in fact they may have inadvertently sped up the whole hacking development by doing this

i have had a iphone and various android phones and FOR ME, android beats it hands down, widgets, as well as all the customizations and the different roms if your into that (and no, im not talking about game roms)

im all for sony doing what they have to, to protect themselves and their developers but this wont stop piracy at all

dont you know what predecessor actually means?
the ngage failed for various reasons which dont effect this device, mainly being sony is not nokia and dont face all the problems they had when releasing the ngage
first, android doesnt need any help, doing even a quick google search would have told them that
second, bringing up the ngage is pointless, nokia dont make gaming handhelds, nokia dont make games etc
third, this device is competing against the iphone and WP7, not the psp2 or 3DS
whether this is a playstation phone or xperia play.....who cares? why are so many people here getting so caught up with a name? tell me why it matters either way? <...
even if sony release crappy games for this we still have thousands and thousands of emulators to play
this phone is still running on high end hardware, not quite tegra 2 specs but still high end
for gaming on a phone nothing else will compare simply because of the gamepad
this device will also replace my modded HD2 running android
every negative point you just mentioned could also apply to the PSP2
its sony ericcson focusing on this device while i assume sony playstaion is handling the PSP2

but that still makes it a fairly large problem, the hackers do all the hard work, making the CFW, making tutorials, making simple to follow GUI, video instructions etc....then, even your average joe can do it, if willing
