I really did think the game was solid. Not trying to pander to anyone or a certain crowd, but I think that Samus speaking is one of the more intriguing aspects of the game and I enjoyed finding out about her character.
I don't think an SoA remake is in the cards, at least right now, considering that Wii is compatible with GameCube games and there's Legends there...
Now what would be WAY awesome is if Legends go released on XBLA/PSN to go with the current trend of bringing DreamCast (and hopefully Saturn) titles to more recent consoles.
WHOA WHOA WHOA. TACTICS OGRE IS GETTING REMADE?!
UNF.
I am so happy right now. ;_;
I dunno why, but I've never been very interested in the Phantasy Star series. Probably because of the grinding.
Solid review, though. If I ever find time (which is feeling less and less likely as I look at my catalogue of games), I might try this.
Shame that such a promising title (at least a vast step up from the first game) didn't really offer a whole lot past its original premise.
Nice review!
Probably because Vaan would be too similar to Zidane.
If anything, they should TOTALLY bring in Fran.
Also, it'd be awesome to see some Tactics characters in there.
Agrias? Aw, heeeeeeeeell yeah.
You know, I knew there was going to be a sequel, which is why I didn't play the first Dissidia.
Now I definitely have a reason, what, with Kain, Lightning and Tifa joining the ranks.
Now we just need Faris from V.
The one thing I remember the most about NES MegaMan games is that they were all brutally difficult.
9 and 10 remind me of how much I suck at video games that are difficult, and that I could never reach Wiley, even when I was young.
Daigo would destroy each and every one of us at any 2D fighting game ever.
Street Fighter or not.
Play it again, man, and this time don't concentrate too much on running and gunning and more on the experimentation aspect of it.
I really enjoyed the diversity of Bayonetta, and I hope that Vanquish offers the same kind of variety in gameplay as Bayonetta did.
Although, I hope it's not TOO much like Bayonetta, but Platinum/Clover have more than proven that they're able to handle more than one kind of project.
I think we have a contender for my personal Game of the Year.
The worst part is, Platinum is contending against itself! Bayonetta is my other choice!
Much agreed, my friend! In fact, if you get the TVersity Codec packs, you may have even more options available to you than just the K-Lite Codec Pack (of course, it's been many moons since I had the K-Lite Pack, especially after getting the TVersity Codecs).
Don't get me wrong, TVersity is an excellent program, but it has its limitations and is VERY resource heavy. PS3 Media Server is, in my experience, a lot sleeker and more efficient, especially if you plan on streaming bigger files or .mkv files (which, if I recall correctly, TVersity does not support).
I guess it just depends on what you plan to stream to what system. If TVersity works great for you, that's excellent. It's a superb program and only gets better...
Yeeeeep. Still nothing.
I dumped TVersity in a heartbeat for PS3 Media Server! Although, I would recommend keeping the TVersity codecs.
PS3MS uses FAR fewer resources than TVersity ever will.
So, when I click on the link, all I get is a blank page.
They're bad in that funny way.
But seriously, they're like watching Megas XLR.
The story had its shortcomings. Really, I think the story completed its aim — it gave Samus familiar grounds to tread to finally give insight to the players about her thoughts.
Without the familiar feel to it, it would've been difficult to give Samus a voice and reminisce about what had happened in previous Metroid games.
