Hey, thanks for your comment! Didn't actually think about Poets of the Fall, but if I should have a "runner-up" list, they'll definitely be on there.
Well, of COURSE they are on there.
The reason I left Anamanaguchi off is because their music is too compressed and makes for absolutely unlistenable quality. It's atrociously loud and while it's charming and cute (for the Scott Pilgrim game and their original stuff), I get a headache from listening to it.
There's no dynamic range, and while that IS a throwback to way-back-when, it should not be happening with modern recording techniques.
They're more of a novelty above anything, but I'm incredibly in love with the talent.
Being able to do just about everything with the voice, it's an excellent display of control and discipline.
Pretty boring list.
Not with those Sharpie eyebrows, let me say.
I really enjoyed this. Thank you for putting it up.
As a journalist, I find myself using some of the above terms sparingly (but still using them). At the end of it, I realize that any review is simply my opinion about something rather than a broad generalization of among players.
I've given up the "not swearing" aspect of being a writer, but I do believe that not swearing gives an article some class and adds a hint of credibility to yourself a...
How in the Hell haven't I heard about this?
Little known gem, indeed.
>Bulletstorm has lots of bloody violence
>Nobody on Earth surprised
First trailer made it seem like Lex had become such a good guy.
OH BOY, WHAT TWEEST.
>The result, he said, is players who are contrary for the sake of it, chastising developers for taking creative risks. “The only thing this attitude aims to achieve is stunt that creativity and innovation even further,” he said, “which is something that no rational gamer looking to be entertained would want to do.”
...Says the guy who was on a team who made yet another boring Call of Duty game.
I wasn't even close to being surprised by anything on this list. Which just means it's a pretty good list. :3
Hey, awesome.
I really appreciate this.
Haha, I feel incredibly complimented. Really!
It's still in its early stages! The finished product will undoubtedly look better.
Orta had some really great strong points, but I felt that it wasn't quite as good as the rail Panzer Dragoon games that preceded it.
It had all the things that made the other games good, but something about it felt...off?
So far, the best on-rails incarnation of the series is Zwei, hands down.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned in the article, Project Draco is *not* a Panzer Dragoon game. Yukio Futatsugi as well as Microsoft Game Studios VP Phil Spencer have said as much.
Yeah, I played the demo. I wrote the article, actually. Played it for several hours before sitting down and deciding to write this.
Pretty unimpressed with the Crysis 2 demo on the whole.
Not really.
First-person shooters are getting stale, and if robot legs is the only thing Crysis 2 has to offer, then this is something that I will definitely pass up. Honestly, the only FPS game coming out this year that's worth even a look is Bulletstorm, but even then who knows?
I hope that the next MechWarrior installment is awesome. I loved the games and the toys as a kid.
Maybe Steel Battalion for the Kinect will fill that hole.
