Because story dosn't mean quest. Maybe you just can spend some time in a tavern a witness an argument between two person who stat to fight. It's not a quest, you will have nothing to do really, but it makes the world more alive.
I was never a fan of FF, but Suikoden 2... That was one amazing RPG. I can't believe it's not on PSN.
Not if you count Fallout 3 and New Vegas. It was not a numbered sequel, but it was still a full stand alone game.
@DanielGearSolid
You are right, but I just like to know why I'm killing someone, see some progression toward an ultimate goal and a plot twist or two. Let me kill the target and escape the way I want, but between the missions, make me care about the characters and what I'm doing. Keep it simple, but make it count.
Edit : I only player Absolution, so I can't really compare with the old ones. Maybe the ratio Freedom/Story telling was perfect. I don'...
It depends what you mean by "unnecessary". The story is one of the most important part. It just need to be a good one. I liked the one in "Absolution".
@Skip_Bayless
Yep! I'm sure it will be some kind of DS that connect to the TV. The opposite of the Wii-U. Portables are powerful now and it's Nintendo's strength. They cost less to develop for and most Nintendo's games don't need to be 1080p 60fps. People want the same old Pokemon and plug it to the TV if they want.
WWE Network ? This is just WAY too many oiled muscular men bitching each other for my tastes.
PS+ is what made me turn my back on Xbox. I never had so many games to play in my life, I can't keep up!
It's better than : "Fuck Shenmue!" But that is not really Yoshida's style.
I don't understand how Sega can have a IP like Shenmue that is loved by millions and not milking the hell out of it and still making Sonic games that no one cares about. Maybe they are just looking at the numbers of sales, but the forget that the first two was on two failed systems, the Dreamcast and the Xbox (still two great consoles). If Ubisoft had that IP, we would be at Shenmue 27 by now!
Agreed. The "it was better back in the days" mentality is wrong and this goes for music and movies too. For every Nirvana there was 10 new kiids on the block and for every ghostbusters, 10 ski school. We just remember the good stuff an it will be the same in 20 years. We will remember TLOU, but totally forget Deadpool.
What?! There was never a better time to be a gamer! Gaming in the nes-snes erra was terrible. We remember the great classics, but we forget that 95% of the games was crap. Today there is still crappy games, but at least, even the worsts are still playable (remember the first 3d games?). The indie scene is amazing, the AAA are less original, but still fun and it's never been so cheap to be a gamer. Back in the days, it was like 70$ for a Mario game, with the inflation, it's a LOT! Forg...
I have not played that game yet, it looks fun and I need something to play on my PS4, so go on Lara! Shut up and take my money!
I don't think it needs to be a lot cheaper for PS+ members, it must be reasonably priced for everyone. If it's like Music Unlimited, the price is too high if you are not a PS+ member and they are losing members. I think the goal of PSNow, is to recruit new gamers to the PS family. To get all the casual players who don't care to play a game once in a while, even if it's of the previous gen, but mostly the PC and Xbox gamers who just want to try the Playstation exclusives so ...
Yep. This generation is the last one, but it will last a while.
He's kinda harsh on Sony too in the article. He just sound like a frustrated bitch.
I can use VPN for that. I'm not sure about the speed, but it's worth a try.
I hope my fake US zip code will work... Is 90210 too obvious ?
Prediction : This will never work in Canada! Not with the CRTC around.
P.S. Not that over-regulation is necessarily a bad thing in Canada. Without the CRTC, all our original content would be cannibalized by the Americans.
@snookiegamer
It must be hard to design a game with the right balance between complexity and simplicity. I don't want to dedicate my life to a game to learn how to play it, but I don't want it to be a button masher. Skyrim had a good system, but at the end, I was so good at it, I wished it was more complicated. Maybe what The Witcher needs it's a system that is simple like Skyrim at first, but with a learning curve that goes up until the end?
