I'm running 1080p on a 144hz monitor. I love high frame rates.. Besides, it's 2015 here - screw 30fps 900p for a joke. Even smart phones try and run games at higher res and frame rates that the consoles.
I'm personally a fanboy of performance. Nvidia or AMD I don't care - performance is what matters to me. I agree. Power consumption is a BS argument. No one buys a Toyota prius over a Ferrari because it uses less fuel.
Hopefully AMD knock this one out the park.
Sony is ages away from releasing anything. I anticipate it's not going to be that great with the current ps4 since VR needs x2 fps to work properly.
I agree, I've SLIed 780s then 980m. If there is no support out of the gate Nvidia Inspector compatibility bits can always find a fix. The only game that doesn't benefit is Wolfenstein and games on that engine.

Who cares. I'd rather the consoles have been an extra $200 and got a faster gpu/cpu and not resort to sub 1080p and sub 60fps all the time.
Not only are this gen consoles a massive disappointment hardware wise, there are very few games - and out of those few so little are any good .

I use SLI, if you learn how to use Nvidia Inspector you can get all games running well with SLI way before official drivers come out. I love SLI.
Games are so cheap on PC people don't need to resort to pawning off their games library. Why would I want to sell my games just to be able to afford a new one.

Fanboyism aside people. These gains are not direct GPU gains and shouldn't be viewed as such. They are CPU draw call gains. Massive ones, but the actual end of day FPS games will be very game dependent and it may not be a night and day experience - no one knows yet. I expect the X1 may be able to take advantage with games in open environments. PC's are the big winner here. Watch them truly run ...
