Nintendo owned Rare and you saw what happened. Sony buying bungie isnt impossible In fact it's inevitable.
Madden's Raiders,
You know Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is running for like 80 bucks at gamestop. SOmeone would pay you a pretty penny for that game.
The question is, would and if Sony strikes an independent deal with Bungie, would Sony pressure them into making a FPS game with the Halo engine. Sort of how PDZ was loosely based off the original Perfect Dark engine.
Another thing that I have a question is, while Microsoft has rights to Halo itself, do they have the rights to the engine as well?
Scottie2521,
Not to mention Gears of War was being played in a box office movie (die hard 4.0). But the fact of the matter is Sony's funds are being carefully divided into which games to be advertised the most. Which is MGS and FF and others. Basically I think Sony's strategy is to get some Solid titles out in 2007 and to really push the ads in 08.
Sony has stated in one way or another that 2008 is their year. When it comes to the positive aspects of the PS3, ...
Very farfetched. I dont see this happening at all. But then again, In 1995 if you told me Sonic was going to appear on a Nintendo system, I would have slapped you silly and called you a f*king nutcase.
So anything can happen.
Honestly I think this goes deeper than a price cut for Sony. I wouldnt consider the price cut a "big bang" because it's expected. The only way this would be considered a big bang is if the price matches, or is lower than the 360.
But rumors and speculation are definately running rampant and with Sony announcing this "big bang" announcement, it coincides with a lot of things being mentioned right now in the industry

NBA 08 is a better product than NBA Live imo. But at least with no exclusivity agreement, gamers have choices on which Basketball game to pick from. Not to mention each system has their exclusives. The XBOX had a great potential franchise with NBA Inside Drive(what happened with that)?
Anyway, I would love to see how Sony would fare with a Next Gen NFL Gameday.
Cinematics wise, Heavenly Sword has set the bar. The only game I can think of that's capable of passing the bar is Metal Gear Solid 4. And that wont be easy.
Agrees and bubbles for both of you!
8.8 seems like a solid score to me. An 8.8 would convince me into going to purchase the game for sure. In fact, I may pick up Halo 3 so I can finally give a honest comparison to my favorite fps right now which is Resistance.
Why would someone disagree with that?
If a white zombie were trying to kill you, would you shoot him? Yes.
If a hispanic zombie were trying to kill you, would you shoot him? Yes.
If a black zombie were trying to kill you, would you shoot him? Yes.
Would the same people who are hollering racism shoot any of the three zombies if it were rushing at them, Yes.
BTW. I'm black.
ACtually I agree with most of what bladestar said. Better late than never and in a FPS, it is vital.
14.1
This guy cant even decide what the PS3 is. Pricing should be last on his mind
No. Pricing should be the FIRST thing on his mind. Because the price is the sole reason why the PS3 isnt sweeping off shelves like it should.
Sony saved themselves with that announcement. And usually, Phil's word is bond. He's clearly the best PR guy Sony has. Imagine if Phil would have unveiled the PLAYSTATION 3 at E3 2005 instead of Ken Kutaragi, it may not have been held to such impossible standards. More people may have respected the system.
There's no way I can hear Phil saying PS3 has 4D graphics and dissing the XBOX 360.
From the way it looks, MGS seems to be pretty far in development so it may be possible. But when they do say winter, that could also mean Jan. Feb, and some of march as well.
XD
PS3 is being outsold by XBOX..
That's real nice.
: goes back to playing some PS360 :
Needs to be released.
Definately good news for Sony. Am I a little ticked at buying a PS3 for 600 at launch? Yes. But what's more important is that the install base will be growing for the PLAYSTATION 3 community and ultimately that's what every PS3 user should want. So I'm damn happy about that.
Is this a desperate attempt in Sony keeping their consumers? Maybe, depends on how you look at it. But in my perspective, Sony is doing what they need to do to keep their third party devs like Square and Ko...
