Many people were surprised when this game was suddenly announced as a $40 title. The way it was introduced with a big CG trailer and MS always chanting "AAA" gave people the impression that it was a big budget AAA franchise. The disappointing reality of the game might have played a role in the bad reviews as the author points out. PS4 Pro is just not powerful enough to run modern graphically intensive games at native 4K. It just takes too much power. However, games that are not graphically too much demanding such as indies, remasters and AA titles will run at native 4K.

I find it disappointing that Sony kept touting 4K gaming and yet PS4 Pro cannot even run those games at native 4K. I would have preferred if they were just honest and openly declare that it will run games at 2K and upscale them to 4K. What they are doing right now makes them look shady, deceptive and greedy.

I think the $400 price is the biggest advantage that PS4 Pro has over Scorpio. It is obvious that the omission of the UHD Bluray drive was for the sake of achieving that $400 price point profitably. Scorpio will definitely be more expensive with its UHD Bluray drive, 320 GB/s RAM and 6 TF GPU. It will offer better performance than PS4 Pro but many times price wins over performance for consumers.
